  • US Patent:
    6370801, Apr 16, 2002
  • Filed:
    Nov 23, 1999
  • Appl. No.:
    09/448311
  • Inventors:
Dean R. Weyer - Enumclaw WA
Michael Kevin Kehler - Buckley WA
  • Assignee:
1994 Weyer Family Limited Partnership - Enumclaw WA
  • International Classification:
    E02F 396
  • US Classification:
    37406, 37409, 414732, 414739
  • Abstract:
A tool assembly using a fluid-powered actuator and including first and second tool members. The first tool member is pivotably connectable to a boom arm of a vehicle or stationary support platform for rotation about a first axis. The first tool member is also attached to a body of the actuator and the second tool members is attached to a shaft of the actuator so that operation of the actuator rotates the second tool member relative to the first tool member about a second axis spaced apart from the first axis and independent of rotation of the first tool member about the first axis. The second tool member is positioned to cooperatively engage the first tool member to assist in collection operations. The actuator has a generally cylindrical body with an output shaft rotatably disposed therein for rotation about the second axis. A linear-to-rotary transmission device disposed within the actuator body produces selective rotational movement of the shaft relative to the body and hence the second tool member relative to the first tool member.

  • US Patent:
    6585079, Jul 1, 2003
  • Filed:
    Dec 14, 1999
  • Appl. No.:
    09/461673
  • Inventors:
Dean R. Weyer - Enumclaw WA
  • Assignee:
1994 Weyer Family Limited Partnership - Enumclaw WA
  • International Classification:
    B66F 1104
  • US Classification:
    182 27, 182 18
  • Abstract:
A fluid-powered rotatable work platform assembly for use with a vehicle such as a vehicle having an arm for positioning the assembly. The assembly includes a work platform or support configured to support a load, a body having a cavity extending along a longitudinal axis, and an output shaft rotatably disposed within the body generally coaxial with the longitudinal axis. A linear-to-rotary force transmitting member is positioned within the cavity of the body and engaged with the body and the output shaft to translate linear motion of the force transmitting member to rotational motion of one of the output shaft and the body relative to the other. The work platform is coupled to one of the body and the output shaft with at least one link and the arm of the vehicle is coupled to the other of the body and the output shaft so that when the output shaft and the body rotate relative to one another, the work platform rotates relative to the arm of the vehicle, while the pivoting link allows the work platform to move downward under the load. A sensor is operatively coupled to the work platform to sense the downward movement and/or an increasing load on the work platform.

  • Inventors:
Dean R. Weyer - Enumclaw WA, US
  • Assignee:
1994 Weyer Family Limited Partnership - Enumclaw WA
  • International Classification:
    E21B 19/16
  • US Classification:
    173218
  • Abstract:
A fluid-powered tool actuator usable with a vehicle having an arm and a rotation link for rotation of the tool actuator in a first plane and being laterally tiltable in a second transverse plane. In some embodiments pressurized fluid is communicated using distribution channels and passageways internal to the actuator to limit use of external hydraulic lines. In some embodiments the tool actuator has certain components in a compressive pre-loaded state to reduce their fatigure failure during operation of the tool actuator under load.

  • Inventors:
Dean R. Weyer - Enumclaw WA, US
  • International Classification:
    F16H 25/08
  • US Classification:
    74 25
  • Abstract:
A fluid-powered rotary actuator having a body with a shaft disposed therein and having a linear-to-rotary torque transmitting member mounted for longitudinal movement within said body in response to the selective application of pressurized fluid thereto. The body includes a non-cylindrical cross-sectional shape body portion and a non-cylindrical cross-sectional shape piston head is in sliding engagement therewith and sized to engage the body portion to inhibit rotation of the piston head. In an alternative embodiment the body portion is cylindrical with an eccentric aperture to receive the shaft to inhibit rotation of the piston head.

  • US Patent:
    54872308, Jan 30, 1996
  • Filed:
    Dec 14, 1994
  • Appl. No.:
    8/355593
  • Inventors:
Dean R. Weyer - Enumclaw WA
  • International Classification:
    E02F 336
  • US Classification:
    37468
  • Abstract:
A fluid-powered, laterally tiltable tool actuator. A tool has a pair of clevises, and an actuator has a generally cylindrical body with an output shaft rotatably disposed therein with an axis in general parallel alignment with a forward rotation plane through which the tool is rotatable on a backhoe arm by the operation of a rotation link. A bracket is attached to the body and has a pair of clevises for pivotal attachment to the vehicle arm and rotation link. The output shaft has a pair of shaft attachment members at each end for attaching the shaft to the corresponding tool clevises. The first pair of shaft attachment members is rigidly fixed to the shaft and attached to a first tool clevis. The second pair of shaft attachment members is pivotally attached to the shaft and pivots in a plane generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. The pivoting attachment members can be adjustably positioned to accommodate various distances which separate the first and second tool clevises of different tools to allow the pivoting attachment members to be readily attached to a second tool clevis.
