Abstract:

The invention provides a plastic container that comprises the container body with an integral handle and lid. The container body has a sidewall which terminates in an upwardly facing rim defining a surface to which a sealing member such as a sheet of plastic or aluminum foil can be adhesively bonded. A pair of hinge supports are integrally molded with the container body and each has an upper hinge end which is in alignment with the rim of the container. The handle has a central hand grip portion and a pair of legs each of which is hinged to the hinge support and molded integrally therewith. A pair of hinges defined by plastic ligaments of reduced thickness are both aligned with the top of the rim between one of the supports and the legs of the handle. A beveled side wall is provided at the upper end of each of the hinge supports to define upper support portions of reduced thickness proximate the hinges for allowing unobstructed pivotal movement of the handle about the hinges in each direction until the hand grip contacts the container body thereby eliminating stress on the hinge.

Abstract:

A flying disc toy formed from plastic resin includes a circular central body portion surrounded by a circular rim that has a stair-step cross-sectional configuration. The rim includes an upper step and a lower step that extends outwardly therefrom. Each step has a circular horizontal tread portion and an upright annular riser portion at right angles to one another. An inner surface of the lower riser is dimensioned to form a sliding fit over an outer surface of the upper riser of a similar disc that is positioned beneath it when the discs are placed in a stack.

Abstract:

A tether that is formed from plastic resin is used for securing a captive article, e.g., a scoop to a container such as a bottle or the like. The tether comprises a ring-shaped body portion defining a collar that is constructed and dimensioned to fit around the neck of the container. An integral arcuate leash encircles the collar and is concentric exteriorly of the collar so as to at least partially surround the collar. An integral radially extending connecting ligament also formed from the same plastic resin is located between the collar and a proximal end of the leash. A fastener is provided on the free end of the leash for securing the tether to the captive article.

Abstract:

A stackable height adjustment ring for supporting a manhole cover frame upon a concrete manhole shaft liner has a ring body that is formed from plastic resin, e. g. , scrap plastic. The ring includes inner and outer radially spaced apart side walls and optionally a top wall. Brace arms which are integral with the walls preferably extend radially between the walls for holding them together. The rings have alignment members, e. g. , an inner wall of the ring can have an upwardly facing shoulder upon its upper edge and the outer wall, a downwardly facing shoulder on its lower edge. An upwardly extending cylindrical collar at the top of the outer ring fits the downwardly facing shoulder of an adjacent ring. There is also a downwardly extending collar at the lower edge of the inner ring to fit on the upwardly facing shoulder of a similar inner ring. The alignment members enable each ring to be held in alignment upon each successive ring beneath it so that the rings can be stacked one upon another to adjust the elevation of the manhole cover frame above a concrete manhole shaft liner.
