Abstract:

Stent delivery systems, locking members for preventing unwanted actuation of a actuation member on a stent delivery system, and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member. A deployment sheath may be disposed about the inner member. A stent may be disposed between the inner member and the deployment sheath. A handle may be coupled to the inner member and to the deployment sheath. The handle may include an actuation member. The actuation member may be configured to shift the longitudinal position of the deployment sheath relative to the inner member. A locking member may be disposed on the actuation member. The locking member may be configured to prevent unwanted actuation of the actuation member.

Abstract:

Stent delivery systems and methods for making and using stent delivery systems are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member having a stent receiving region, a stent disposed along the stent receiving region, a deployment sheath axially slidable relative to the inner member, the deployment sheath having a proximal end region, a handle coupled to the deployment sheath, a rod coupled to the handle, the rod having a distal end region, a proximal end region and a first threaded portion extending from the distal end region to the proximal end region and a coupling member configured to couple the rod to the deployment sheath, the coupling member having an engagement portion. Additionally, the first threaded portion of the rod is designed to engage the engagement portion of coupling member and rotation of the rod is designed to translate the coupling member along the rod.

Medical devices and methods for forming the medical devices are disclosed in the present application. In one illustrative example an occlusion balloon comprises an outer balloon member, and an inner balloon member having an inner wall and an outer wall and extending through at least a portion of the outer balloon member. In at least some examples, when forces acting on the inner wall of the inner balloon member equal forces acting on the outer wall of the inner balloon member, the inner balloon member defines a lumen.

Abstract:

A drug delivery device that uses centrifugal force to deliver a drug to a body lumen wall. The drug delivery device comprises an impeller that includes an impeller shaft; an impeller head at the distal end of the impeller shaft; a drug lumen; an impeller housing; and a housing shaft attached to the impeller housing. In use, the drug is advanced along the drug lumen to the impeller head; at least the impeller head is rotated so that when drug exits the drug lumen, the centrifugal force of the rotating impeller causes the drug to move radially outward from the drug delivery device, towards and into the body lumen wall.
