27 killed in gruesome drug related massacre in Guatemala‎ (PHOTO)
"This is the worst massacre we have seen in modern times," police spokesman Donald Gonzalez told Reuters, adding that it was hard to remember a mass killing on this scale since Guatemala's 36-year civil war ended in 1996.
The massacre took place early Sunday in the town of Caserio La Bomba in Peten province near the Mexico border, according to National Civil Police spokesman Donald Gonzalez. Among the 29 dead were two children and two women.
