Abstract:

A lamp dimming system, designed to be added to existing HID fixtures with an absolute minimum of installation time and no external wiring is disclosed. Any existing ballast may be converted to a bi-level device for intelligent energy savings. The modification kit is wired in series with one of the lamp leads to effect both powering of the unit and control of the lamp. All timing and control is on an individual lamp basis so that the lamp temperature stabilization is completed before dimming is attempted. No external wiring, either to power the control unit or to effect control of the lamp dimming is required. Several versions are described. In one version the unit senses an occupant and stops dimming both of itself and other lamps in a network. In another version the unit receives a radio command to dim or brighten, which is inhibited until the initial power up delay sequence is completed. Self powered versions of both receiver and transmitter implementations are included.

An electrical generator system includes a source for producing heated gases, a conduit connected to the source for receiving a flow of the heated gases, and a generator assembly positioned in close proximity to the conduit. The generator assembly includes a plurality of magnets positioned in a spaced relationship, the plurality of magnets producing a magnetic field. At least one electrical conductor is positioned adjacent the plurality of magnets to conduct an electrical current generated in response to the flow of heated gases in the conduit and the magnetic field.

Abstract:

A recycle trash collector for holding and segregating recyclable materials includes a plurality of stackable modular containers having a first door hingedly attached to a front of the containers in covering relation to an open mouth and a second smaller door hingedly attached to the first door in covering relation to a geometrically shaped opening formed in the first door. The first and second doors are structured for swinging movement between open and closed positions. The second door and the corresponding geometrically shaped opening on each container are specifically sized and shaped to identify a particular type of recyclable material and to allow the material to be deposited therein. A plurality of dowel pins extend from the bottom of the containers and a corresponding number of recessed holding ports are located in the top of the containers, the ports being structured to releasably capture the dowel pins therein, thereby enabling the containers to be stacked in secured relation to one another in accordance with a select arrangement.
