Abstract:

In embodiments, cranberries are utilized at certain phases of development, prior to full red color development, which are typically characterized by an acid profile conducive to producing flavorful, high-value products, such as juices. At select phases of development, the berries have a quinic acid content which is similar to fully red berries but a citric acid content which is much higher than fully red berries. As a result, the juice from these berries can be used with less need to add citric acid or citric acid juice, like lemon juice, to modify flavor. The berries at the select phase of development typically have a light color, from pink to white, which can be quantified based on the anthocyanin level in the fruit or the resulting juice.

Abstract:

A tape timer system is described for indicating the position of recording tape, moved longitudinally by a drive mechanism, relative to a tape head. Periodic first pulses are developed from the drive mechanism by a tachometer system and are used to operate a counter. The counter produces a series of sequences of count pulses, each count pulse being related to receipt of the first pulses. The phase of the count cycle of the counter is adjusted by comparing the phase of the first pulses with the phase of second pulses related to longitudinal spacing of recorded information on the tape (control track pulses). Information as to tape position is developed from the count pulse sequences which have been phase corrected as needed in accordance with the arrival of the second pulses.

Abstract:

Apparatus for separating an assembled insulated wire terminal from a carrier strip segment. The assembled terminal has an insulating plastic sleeve surrounding the metal body, the forward end of the body being attached to the carrier strip segment at a prescored separation line extending generally parallel to the length of the carrier strip and within the sleeve. The apparatus comprises positioning means to retain the assembled wire terminal in a fixed position, and flexing means to flex the carrier strip segment at the prescored separation line successively in two senses with respect to the wire terminal retained in the fixed position, to separate the carrier strip segment from the terminal at the prescored separation line within the sleeve.

Abstract:

A servo system is disclosed for accurately regulating velocity of a rotating drum, preferably for guiding a magnetic tape of a recording and reproducing system. The method and apparatus is characterized in that generation of a ramp signal is commenced in response to a first one of a series of tach signals provided at a rate proportional to the velocity of rotation of the drum, the ramp signal being interrupted for a predetermined time duration and thereafter recommenced, the ramp signal subsequently being monitored upon occurrence of a second tach signal in order to produce an error signal for adjusting velocity of the drum motor means and maintaining the proper drum velocity.

A composition (useful for attracting ) containing (3R,6R,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3R,6R,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6S,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, and optionally a carrier material or carrier. The composition may also contain (3R,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3R,6S,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6R,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol, (3S,6R,7R,10R)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol where the composition contains a 3:1 ratio of cis-epoxybisabolenols:trans-epoxybisabolenols produced from (R)-citronellal. These compositions were based on the newly discovered aggregation pheromone components: (3S,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol and (3R,6S,7R,10S)-10,11-epoxy-1-bisabolen-3-ol. The composition may also contain methyl(2E,4E,6Z)-decatrieonate. Also a method for attracting to an object or area, involving treating said object or area with a attracting composition containing a attracting effective amount of the composition.
