About:
Thanks for stopping by. Viewing this brief bio is much like glancing at my passport: you'll quickly get a snapshot or two of where I've been, where (and how) I like to spend my time, and where...

I'm a writer, editor, occasional teacher, an eager home cook, a hiker, a traveller, a wanderer, a blogger.
Bragging Rights:
I squeaked through high school, completed a degree in environmental studies (Iwhich taught me to value the planet in practical ways), then followed that up with a Certificate in Magazine Journalism, where I found my stride. I've tackled some French and Spanish along the way and, after being bitten by the travel bug in my late 20s, I've managed to fill about five passports and I've visited approximately 40 countries. Canada is always the place I return, with my backpack and my heart. I've learned a slew of lessons along the way - the most important of them being SAFEGUARD YOUR HEALTH. Good health, good leg muscles, good attitude -- there's no better way to see the world.
