Abstract:

A computer software controlled method of fitting a golf shaft to a golfer having steps of electronically determining the selection of a shaft by electronically testing, recording and storing a golfers reliable club head swing speeds values and face angle/degrees at impact. Testing to determine flex choice based on face angle/degrees at impact is completed first and then testing to determine stiffness based on head speed is completed second.

Abstract:

The invention related to methods and a system fro precisely fitting a golfer to a selected stiffness of golf shaft and to a selected flex choice of golf shaft. Heretofore and presently, a long felt need exists for methods and means to precisely fitting a golfer to a particular golf shaft whose values of stiffness and flex choice are applicable to a player of a specific skill level in the game of golf. Present day club fitting systems and methods are very expensive, complex and do not provide methods and means for precisely fitting a golfer to the most important part of a golf club, the golf shaft and its stiffness and flex point or kick point values, to allow a player to possess accuracy and consistency in his or her golf swing/shot performance. The present inventive methods and the system invention disclosed herein satisfy this long felt need and provide accurate selection of a golf shaft for a player by providing the particular methods and analysis set forth hereinafter.

Abstract:

A composite lintel structure is disclosed for spanning openings in a building structure and for supporting building materials thereon. The composite lintel structure has a vertical leg for affixation to a building structure and a horizontal leg for placement of one or more courses of building materials thereon. The materials of construction of the lintel structure are preferably selected from composites that are moisture impermeable and corrosion resistant. The lintel structure may also comprise one or more stiffeners rigidly or adjustably attached between the horizontal and vertical legs to accommodate load transference from the horizontal leg to the vertical leg of the lintel structure.

Abstract:

A composite wall tie structure is disclosed for supporting or anchoring building materials to a building structure. The composite wall tie has a vertical leg for affixation to a building structure and a horizontal leg for placement in the mortar between courses of building materials. The horizontal portion of the wall tie has bristle-like protuberances and/or perforations thereon for anchoring the leg within mortar. The materials of construction of the wall tie are preferably selected from composites that are moisture impermeable and corrosion resistant. The wall tie system may also comprise a mounting and alignment bracket attached to the vertical legs of multiple wall ties at regular horizontal intervals to accommodate the secure attachment of wall ties to wall studs.

Abstract:

A device for expediently and efficiently adjoining overlapping segments of reinforcement bar with substantially accurate and precise measures of overlap is disclosed. The device comprises a first coupling element for coupling to a first reinforcement bar and a second coupling element for coupling to a second reinforcement bar. The device is structured and configured to gauge the amount of overlap between the first and second reinforcement bars upon coupling the first and second coupling elements to their respective reinforcement bars. A guide element may be provided to guide the second reinforcement bar into contact with the second coupling element to aid in coupling the second reinforcement bar to the second coupling element over a substantial distance. A coupling device according tot he invention may comprise two coupling components each having a first opening at a first end and a second second opening at a second end. The first component has a first abutment surface to limit the travel of a first reinforcement bar through the first component and the second component has a second abutment surface to limit the travel of a second reinforcement bar through the second component.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus are provided wherein a moving light source is passed over a surface whose shape is to be determined, in two orthogonal paths and is fixed at a plurality of positions along each path such that the light source illuminates the surface at a different slope for each position. A binary image camera photographs the surface for each of the fixed positions and the point at which each of a plurality of points on the surface is first illuminated and last illuminated, as well as the points that last shadowed or last failed to shadow any given point, are recorded. Constraint equations develop the effect a given point has on its last and failing shadowers and the effect each last and failing shadower has on the given point. Upper and lower bounds of these points are iteratively re-calculated according to the constraint equations until none of the points exhibit any more change in their upper and lower bounds.

Abstract:

An apparatus for supporting reinforcement bar comprises a support assembly including a first support and a second support. The first support has a ground-engaging portion. The second support is coupled to the first support so that the ground-engaging portion provides subjacent support for the second support. The second support is structured and dimensioned to support a reinforcement bar in a substantially upright position. A support member is coupled to the support assembly. The support member is provided for vertically supporting another reinforcement bar. A method for supporting reinforcement bar comprises the steps of providing a ditch having a bottom surface and apparatus for supporting reinforcement bar. The method next comprises the step of positioning apparatus for supporting reinforcement bar in the ditch with an end of apparatus protruding from the ditch and a ground-penetrating portion driven in the bottom surface of the ditch. The method further comprises the step of coupling substantially horizontal reinforcement bars to support members of the apparatus.
