An improved gutter shield device includes a first connecting plane of roll formed metal, a second filtering plane of roll formed metal and metallic or polymer cloth, and a third connecting plane of roll formed metal combined into an integral unit. An elongated strip of roll formed metal includes a rear vertical plane adapted to seat beneath shingles of a roof structure. The rear vertical plane is crimped by roll forming onto the second and rear longitudinal edge of a forward extending plane that combines a fine filtering membrane with an underlying skeletal support of expanded metal as an integral unit. The expanded metal and filtering membrane so joined contain two or more v-shaped downward extending longitudinal channels within the forward extending plane that transverse the length of the forward extending plane parallel to it's first edge. The forward extending plane is bound on a first and forward longitudinal edge by a first plane of that comprises a roll formed angled z-shaped connecting metal strip for securing the gutter shield to an inwardly extending flange of a k-style gutter.
A filter assembly is provided that has a filtering screen and a skeletal structure, the skeletal structure being attached to the filtering screen. At least one of the filtering screen and the skeletal structure form a plurality of downward extending channels.
An elongated strip of extruded plastic or roll formed metal material includes a rear securing fifth plane that inserts beneath a roofing membrane of a building structure. The rear plane integrally connects to a forward extending perforated fourth plane by means of a u shaped channel, one of two u shaped channels, which additionally serve to receive and secure a lateral edge of a filtration membrane. The perforated fourth plane contains intrinsic and intersecting vertical water directing planes that extend above and beneath the surface of the fourth plane and which serve to support and contact an overlying insertable filtration membrane. The fourth plane connects to a forward extending third plane by means of a u shaped channel that serves to receive and secure a lateral edge of a filtration membrane. The third plane connects to a second plane by means of a downward extending u shaped channel. The second plane rests on the top front lip of a k-style gutter and is adjoined by a downward angled first plane that serves to disallow roof water runoff from contacting the front face of a k-style gutter.
A gutter shield device for mounting to a rain gutter is provided. The gutter shield device includes an elongated body comprising a first body portion; a second body portion; and an intermediate body portion disposed between and connected to the first and second body portions. The intermediate body portion defines a surface and includes a plurality of extending portions extending in a direction away from the surface to define a plurality of openings in the surface. The gutter shield device further comprises a filter element secured to the intermediate body portion. A surface of the filter element is arranged adjacent to the openings. A filtration element adapted to be mounted to a rain gutter is also provided. The filtration element comprises a plurality of interwoven threads defining a first substantially planar surface and at least one substantially planar extending portion extending at an angle to the first substantially planar surface. The at least one substantially planar extending portion may be a folded portion.
A filter assembly includes a filtering screen having a top surface and a bottom surface. A skeletal structure is attached to the filtering screen and has a top surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface of the filtering screen contacts the top surface of the skeletal structure. The skeletal structure forms a plurality of downward extending channels.
