Abstract:
An arrangement, and an associated system, in which an actuator is utilized to move a flap. Within the arrangement, an actuator conveys motive force from a motor to cause movement of the flap relative to a supporting structure. A tube of the arrangement is operatively connected to the actuator and movable relative to the support structure in response to motive force conveyed by the actuator. The tube is for operative connection to the flap and is for moving of the flap. The actuator is located radially within an envelope of the tube. Within the system, a controller controls the motor.

Abstract:
A torque transfer limiting arrangement for a rotational drive shaft. The arrangement includes a torque sensing device for sensing torque within the drive shaft and outputing a signal indicative of the sensed torque. A braking device of the arrangement is actuatable for stopping the drive shaft from rotating. The arrangement also includes a portion for electrically causing operation of the braking device responsive to the signal indicative of the sensed torque above a predetermined value. In one example, the portion for electrically causing operation of the braking device includes a processor. In one example, the rotational drive shaft is part of an aircraft flap actuator system.

Abstract:
A link and sensor assembly includes a first rod, a second rod received telescopingly within the first rod, a force sensor attached between the rods and a motion limiter. The force sensor has a longitudinal range of motion. The limiter limits longitudinal motion between the rods to the range of motion and limits angular motion between the rods.

Abstract:
An actuator and flap arrangement includes a flap, movable relative to a support structure, and two actuators. Each actuator has a portion fixed relative to the support structure, a portion movable relative to the fixed portion and connected to the flap for transfer of motor force to flap upon movement of the movable portion, and a motor for moving the movable portion relative to the fixed portion. The arrangement also includes a device interconnecting the two actuators for transferring motive force between the two actuators.

Abstract:
A torque transfer limiting arrangement includes a housing, an input drive shaft, an output drive shaft, and an output cam plate having a plurality of ball ramps with a plurality of balls for transmitting input torque to the output cam plate. A stator assembly is rotatably fixed relative to the housing, and includes at least one stator friction disc. A rotor assembly includes at least one rotor friction disc rotatable relative to the stator friction disc. A sensing spring permits axial displacement of the output cam plate when the input torque exceeds a predetermined maximum limit, whereupon the plurality of balls in the ball ramps cause axial displacement of the output cam to thereby drive the clutch into an engaged state causing relative rotation between the rotor and stator friction discs for isolating and frictionally dissipating the input torque.

Abstract:
An asymmetry/overspeed brake unit designed to stop the rotation of a control surface and its attending drive set and attachment hardware in response to a mechanical overspeed condition or an electrical signal from a flight control computer. The asymmetry/overspeed brake unit comprising a brake housing having a rotatable main shaft running axially therethrough and a locking mechanism, a braking mechanism, a mechanical trip mechanism, and an electrical trip mechanism, all contained within the brake housing. The asymmetry/overspeed brake unit further comprising a mechanical reset mechanism and a trip indication mechanism, both contained within the brake housing.
