A pulley is disclosed which comprises a hub, a firmly resilient collar affixed to the hub, and first and second annular sheet metal members surrounding the collar. The first annular sheet metal member has an outwardly flared margin and bushing portion which engages the collar outer surface with an axially extending press fit. The second annular sheet metal member has an outwardly flared margin adapted to oppose the first sheet metal member margin so as to form a groove for accommodating a belt. A bi-ended sleeve extends from this second member margin and is adapted to engage the first member bushing with an extended, nesting fit. A groove section is formed at the free sleeve end for accommodating a second belt. A radially inwardly extending free bushing end is adapted to engage a groove in the collar to further assist in securing the first sheet metal member to the collar. Additional collar-first member interengagement is provided by a number of lugs which extend radially inwardly from the first member bushing.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for generating simulated waveforms for testing the operability of a vectorcardiogram (VCG) machine. Three distinct waveforms are provided which generally simulate electrical activity within the human heart along three separate axes. Preferably, the waveforms are generated from a single electrocardiographic reference signal. The apparatus includes a plurality of connectors which are selectively coupled to the waveforms and supply output signals to the VCG machine which correspond to waveforms which would ordinarily be supplied by a plurality of electrodes attached to a live patient at various positions.
A pulley comprises a hub and a pair of generally annular sheet metal members having central openings for receiving a portion of the hub and oppositely faltered margins for defining a groove to accommodate a belt. The hub includes a shouder portion of sufficient axial length to extend through the openings of the sheet metal members. A leading end part of the shoulder portion is flared over upon insertion through the openings for grippingly engaging the first and second sheet metal members. A plurality of radially alternating lands and grooves in the hub axially trail the shoulder portion, and a radial array of alternating slots and projections in the first and second sheet metal member openings engage the lands and grooves. Alternatively, a generally annular welding plate is provided having a central opening including a plurality of inward projections for engaging the hub grooves, and a plurality of welding projections for weldable attachment to one of the sheet metal members.
An inexpensive pulley assembly is disclosed which accommodates a number of driving belts. The pulley includes a hub and a number of sheet metal members. These sheet metal members includes bases for attachment to the hub, inner flanges, sleeves flaring axially away from the inner flanges, and outer flanges. When the sheet metal members are assembled on the hub in an appropriately aligned and opposed array, the opposed, facing flanges form the belt-accommodating pulley assembly. The sheet metal members are rigidly attached to the hub by brazing and staking.
