Abstract:

An attachment device for identifying one or more constituents within a fluid includes a first end configured to selectively attach to an opening of a container of holding a fluid, and a sensor coupled to the attachment body. The sensor further includes one or more sensor elements positioned to detect and analyze a fluid within the container. The sensor is further configured to perform one or more tests on the fluid, wherein the one or more tests are useful in identifying one or more constituents within the fluid.

A system for recording the wasting of fluids includes a waste disposal unit and a sensor system, having a sensor. The sensor can have one or more sensor elements in fluid communication with a fluid as it is wasted from a container into the waste disposal unit. Abstract:

A composite comprising: a barrier, said barrier being configured to selectively pass water, and said barrier being degradable in the presence of water; a matrix material for disposition within said barrier, wherein said matrix material has a flowable state and a set state, and wherein said matrix material is degradable in the presence of water; and at least one reinforcing element for disposition within said barrier and integration with said matrix material, wherein said at least one reinforcing element is degradable in the presence of water, and further wherein, upon the degradation of said at least one reinforcing element in the presence of water, provides an agent for modulating the degradation rate of said matrix material in the presence of water.

Abstract:

Systems for expressing milk from a human breast are provided herein. Such systems can include a compression device having multiple fingers configured to at least partially surround a breast and apply pressure to a major portion of a breast without applying pressure to a remainder portion, thereby activating milk ducts within the breast. The fingers can be configured to apply pressure to an inferior portion and one or more lateral portions of the breast, without applying direct pressure to a superior portion. The fingers can be configured to apply pressure to a superior portion and one or more lateral portions of the breast, without applying direct pressure to an inferior portion. The fingers of the compression device can be configured to apply pressure to a superior portion, an inferior portion, and a first lateral portion of the breast, without applying direct pressure to a second lateral portion of the breast.
