Abstract:

A security device for a steering wheel is disclosed. Such device comprises at least one elongated primary rod positioned in contact with the upper surface of a steering wheel adjacent to one side thereof at a first location. The device includes an L-shaped member extending radially inward with respect to the position of contact with respect to the steering wheel. The L-shaped member includes a downwardly extending portion and a radially outboardly extending portion, the rod having an enlarged handle at its radially outboard end. An intermediate support has a pair of support barrels with a first end attached to the inboard end of the primary rod and a cross piece coupling the support barrels. Each support barrel has a second end with a cylindrical bore. A pair of similarly shaped independent secondary rods is provided, each formed with a plurality of concentric circumferential recesses.

Abstract:

A protective housing for a central electrical system deployed within an electric vehicle is described. The protective housing features a first housing layer, a second housing layer and a third housing layer. The first housing layer is configured to support and protect one or more power distribution units responsible for distributing high-voltage power to components within the electric vehicle. The second housing layer is positioned above the first housing layer, where the second housing layer is to support and protect a power charger that disseminates supplied input power to a high-voltage junction box for routing to the battery system of the vehicle. The third housing layer is positioned above the second housing layer, where the third housing layer is to support a high-voltage junction box that handles the routing of power between the distribution unit(s), the charger and the battery system.

Abstract:

In one aspect, multiple data path error collection is provided in a storage management system. In one embodiment, an error condition in a main data path between the storage controller and at least one of a host and a storage unit is detected, and in response, a sequence of error data collection operations to collect error data through a main path is initiated. In response to a failure to collect error data at a level of the sequential error data collection operations, error data is collected through an alternate data path as a function of the error data collection level at which the failure occurred. Abstract:

Node controllers in power distribution networks in accordance with embodiments of the invention enable dynamic frequency control. One embodiment includes a node controller comprising a network interface a processor; and a memory containing a frequency control application; and a plurality of node operating parameters describing the operating parameters of a node, where the node is selected from a group consisting of at least one generator node in a power distribution network wherein the processor is configured by the frequency control application to calculate a plurality of updated node operating parameters using a distributed process to determine the updated node operating parameter using the node operating parameters, where the distributed process controls network frequency in the power distribution network; and adjust the node operating parameters.
