Abstract:

A new and useful optical imaging process is provided for imaging of a plurality of substrates, in a manner that makes efficient use of an optical imaging system with the capability to image a single reticle to a pair of imaging locations, and addresses the types of substrate stage movement patterns to accomplish such imaging in an efficient and effective manner. At least three substrates are imaged by moving their substrate stages in patterns whereby (i) two of the substrates are completely imaged at respective imaging locations, (ii) a substrate on at least one of the three stages is partially imaged at one imaging location and then partially imaged at the other imaging location, and (iii) the movement of the stages of the three substrates is configured to avoid movement of the stages of the three substrates in paths that would cause interference between movement of any one substrate stage with movement of any of the other substrate stages.

Abstract:

A light beam is scanned, for use in laser radar and other uses, by an optical system of which an example includes a beam-shaping optical system that includes a first movable optical element and a second movable optical element. The first optical element forms and directs an optical beam along a nominal propagation axis from the beam-shaping optical system to a target, and the second optical element includes a respective actuator by which the second optical element is movable relative to the first optical element. A controller is coupled at least to the actuator of the second optical element and is configured to induce motion, by the actuator, of the second optical element to move the optical beam, as incident on the target, relative to the nominal propagation axis.

Abstract:

To improve the operation of 3D printing systems, techniques are disclosed for a rotary 3D printer comprising: a main rotating support table rotating about a first axis and one or more secondary support tables rotating around a non-coaxial secondary axis; a powder supply assembly for distributing powder onto the tables; and an energy system for directing an energy beam at the powder to form a part. The main support table and secondary support tables can rotate in the same or opposite directions.Disclosed techniques include: grooved support table surfaces for improving stability of applied powder; reciprocating bellows for controlling a differential load on actuators that move the support tables; high temperature bearings or bushings for supporting rotary motion at high temperatures; and a mechanism for counterbalancing a weight of the part being built.

A measuring device () for monitoring movement of a first object relative to a second object, the first object or the second object including a target surface (), comprises a first image sensor combination (), a second image sensor combination (), and a control system (A). The image sensor combinations () capture first images and second images of the target surface () over time. The first image sensor combination () includes a first image sensor (A) and a first lens assembly (B). The second image sensor combination () includes a second image sensor (A), and a second lens assembly (B) having a second optical axis (BX) that is at an angle of between thirty degrees and sixty degrees relative to normal to the target surface (). The control system (A) analyzes the first images and the second images to monitor movement of the first object relative to the second object.
