Abstract:

A variable angle spinal fixation system is disclosed. The system includes a longitudinal member positionable along a spinal column, a fastener having a threaded end for engaging a vertebra, and a connector member for connecting the fastener and the longitudinal member. The connector member has a channel extending through side surfaces of the connector member for receiving the longitudinal member, an opening laterally displaced from the channel and extending through top and bottom surfaces of the connector member for receiving the fastener, and a fastener clamping element for securing the fastener in the opening at a surgeon selected angle relative to the connector member and longitudinal member. The system according to the present invention allows angulation of the fastener to accommodate complex pathologies.

Abstract:

A child support device () includes a seat () and a panel () included in or adjacent to the seat. The panel includes a first panel portion () including a panel edge () defining a panel opening. The first panel portion has a first heat transfer coefficient. A location of the panel opening corresponds to a heat transfer region in which an expected heat received from a child in the seat is greater than a heat reception threshold, A second panel portion is in the panel opening and attached to the panel edge. The second panel portion includes a layered mesh having a second heat transfer coefficient greater than the first heat transfer coefficient and greater than a threshold heat transfer coefficient at which a temperature of the second panel portion while receiving the expected heat is greater than a room temperature by less than a threshold difference, wherein the threshold difference is at most five degrees Fahrenheit.

Abstract:

A child support device including a collapsible frame and removable seat. The collapsible frame includes a lower frame for rocking atop a support surface and an upper frame for supporting the removable seat. Lower and upper frame ends are connected to a folding mechanism such that manipulation of one of the lower or upper frames causes a generally synchronized movement of the other of the lower or upper frames. In example embodiments, movement of the lower frame from the expanded configuration to the collapsed configuration similarly causes the upper frame to move from the expanded configuration to the collapsed configuration.

Abstract:

An infant bed includes multiple base panels and multiple side and end panels extending therefrom, with the side and end panels typically including removable boards. Each of these panels is connected to adjacent of the panels along respective fold lines that enable the adjacent panels to be folded over on each other. By folding the panels in various ways, they can be converted from a flat configuration for use as an infant play mat to a receptacle configuration for use as an infant bed and/or to a collapsed configuration for transport. Various attachments, flaps, and/or other features can be included for securing the panels in the bed and/or transport configurations, and handles can be included for carrying the bed in the transport configuration. Also, the bed can be nested within a bassinet for use, and upon removal of the bed the bassinet can be collapsed to a transport configuration.
