The suit, which was filed against Class 5 Films by Erica Cruz and George Cruz on Tuesday in New York Supreme Court, alleges that Class 5 maintained highly flammable equipment in the basement of the building, and a fire broke out due to defendants recklessness, carelessness and negligence.

Edward Norton Faces Tenant Suit in 'Motherless Brooklyn' Fire
George and Erica Cruz live on the fourth floor of the building in Harlem where the film, directed by Norton, was being shot. A fire broke out in the basement sometime around 11 p.m. on Thursday. Michael R. Davidson, a New York firefighter, was killed in the blaze.
