Abstract:

Imaging, testing and/or analysis of subjects is facilitated with a micro-mirror-based access approach. According to an example embodiment, a micro-mirror is implemented to direct light to a live being such as a biological specimen or a living being. Light from the live being is detected and implemented for use in analyzing the live being. In certain applications, the micro-mirror is fastened to a live being, such as to a skull of a live mouse, while the live being is allowed to move in an unanesthetized state. Behavior of the live being and detected response from the live being are concurrently used to analyze the live being.

Abstract:

Systems, methods, and apparatus for performing deduced reckoning navigation without a constraint relationship between orientation of a sensor platform and a direction of travel of an object are described herein. A sensor fusion component can be configured to receive data from sensors of a sensor platform coupled to a pedestrian; and generate world coordinate information based on the data. Further, a gait recognition component can be configured to record one or more walking patterns of the pedestrian in a training database; and determine whether the world coordinate information is associated with a walking pattern of the one or more walking patterns. Furthermore, a position estimation component can be configured to estimate a position of the pedestrian based on the world coordinate information if the world coordinate information is associated with the walking pattern, regardless of an orientation of the sensor platform with respect to the position of the pedestrian.

Abstract:

The present invention relates to a combination of a 6-axis motion sensor having a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis linear accelerometer, a motion processor and a radio integrated circuit chip (IC), wherein the intelligence in the motion processor enables the communication between the motion sensor, the radio IC and the external network. The motion processor also enables power savings by adaptively controlling the data rate of the motion sensor, depending on the amount or speed of the motion activity.

Abstract:

A sheet collection mechanism includes three tray portions defining a slanted receiving surface. The surface extends from a lower stop against which sheets are stacked upward to a position below an egress for sheets and is long enough to stack long sheets without interference between the leading edge of an egressing sheet and the stack. To stack shorter sheets the downstream edges of two upper tray portions are selectively raiseable to cause the leading edge of a sheet to engage the stack downstream of the stacks' trailing edge. An auxiliary drive roller is positioned to cooperate with the downstream part of one of the upper trays when raised to assist in driving short sheets to the stop.
