Abstract:

A compiler transforms source code into intermediate code and provides the intermediate code to a profiler. The profiler executes the intermediate code. The profiler generates a performance profile that indicates the performance of the intermediate code, and annotates the intermediate code based, at least in part, on data from the performance profile. The compiler receives annotated intermediate code from the profiler and transforms the annotated intermediate code into machine code. Alternatively, the compiler transforms intermediate code to machine code and provides the machine code to a profiler. The profiler executes the machine code and generates a data file that indicates the performance of the machine code. The compiler receives the data file, and modifies the machine code based on the data file.

Abstract:

A ballistic-resistant molded article having a sandwich-type structure including two outer portions of a first high modulus material surrounding an inner portion of a second high modulus material. The outer portions are comprised of a plurality of interleaved layers of adhesive coated cross-plied non-fibrous ultra high molecular weight polyethylene tape. The inner portion is comprised of a plurality of interleaved layers of high modulus cross-plied fibers embedded in resin. The stack of interleaved layers is compressed at high temperature and pressure to form a hybrid sandwich ballistic-resistant molded article that includes a mix of high modulus materials. It has been found that ballistic resistance is higher for the hybrid structure than for a monolithic structure of comparable areal density.

Abstract:

A ballistic resistant panel including a strike face portion and a backing portion. The strike face portion includes a plurality of interleaved layers of non-fibrous ultra high molecular weight polyethylene tape. The backing portion includes a plurality of interleaved layers of cross-plied fibers of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. The entire stack of interleaved layers is compressed at high temperature and pressure to form a ballistic resistant panel having a strike face on one side. It has been found that ballistic resistance increases as the weight ratio of the strike face portion with respect to the backing portion decreases. A composite panel having a strike face Tensylon tape with at most 40% of the total weight of the panel exhibits improved ballistic resistance properties as compared to a monolithic structure of strictly interleaved layers of cross-plied high modulus fibers.

Abstract:

A plurality of hazard alarm devices are in spatially diverse locations and coupled together with an input-output bus. An interconnect protocol enables non-originating alarm devices to synchronize their audible alert tone pulses with audible alert tone pulses from an originating alarm device in a local hazard alarm condition. Hence, all audible alert tone pulses start sounding substantially together with allowances for signal contention and arbitration between the spatially diverse alarm devices. The originating alarm device continuously sounds its pattern of audible alert tone pulse groups without interruption, while the non-originating alarm devices periodically pause sounding a group of their audible alert tone pulses. The originating alarm device may be found by listening for the alarm device that is continuously sounding audible alert tone pulse groups without pause.

A platform configured to provide virtual glass in order to augment and improve focus group sessions for each actor within the ecosystem. The platform may be configured to allow a moderator, one or more test subjects, and one or more client users to participate in a focus group session at geographically diverse locations. The platform may also be configured to supplement the focus group experience by allowing for dialog and communication between the client users. In some cases, the platform may also be configured to generate and provide real time status indicators associate with the tests subject, real time text-based transcripts of the sessions, and recommendations as to the focus group direction to the moderator.

Abstract:

Turbine and compressor casing abradable component embodiments for turbine engines, with composite, non-inflected, bi-angle, “hockey stick” like pattern abradable surface ridges and grooves. Some embodiments include distinct forward upstream and aft downstream composite multi orientation groove and vertically projecting ridges planform patterns, to reduce, redirect and/or block blade tip airflow leakage downstream into the grooves rather than from turbine blade airfoil high to low pressure sides. In some embodiments the grooves are split or divided into multiple sections to interrupt flow traveling inside the groove and cause a local pressurization that reduces tip leakage flow. Some ridge or rib embodiments also have first lower and second upper wear zones. The lower zone optimizes engine airflow characteristics while the upper zone is optimized to minimize blade tip gap and wear by being more easily abradable than the lower zone.

Methods for determining the VH:VL antibody repertoire from cells, such as antigen-specific B cells, in a high throughput manner. In some aspects, methods are provided for the capture of mRNA transcripts from single B cells that secreted antigen-specific antibodies followed by sequencing of the corresponding cDNAs encoding antibody VH and VL sequences. Libraries of antibodies produced by such methods are also provided.
