Abstract:

A relief valve includes a body, a damping chamber in the body, a poppet in the body, wherein the poppet includes an end in the damping chamber, and a check valve in the damping chamber. The damping chamber is located adjacent an inlet side of the relief valve, and the check valve includes a sealing member to prevent fluid flow into the damping chamber at the inlet side. The sealing member is unseated during opening of the poppet to permit fluid to flow into the damping chamber at the inlet side.

Abstract:

A pressure relief valve includes a singular body that encloses a seat and a stationary shim, a poppet, within the singular body, that is forced against a seat by a spring attached to the stationary shim, and a pin inserted into the pressure relief valve body to lock the pressure relief valve into a housing bore. The poppet includes a nose extension that extends into a void enclosed by the seat to provide damping. The seat includes a non-threaded stepped region on its outer surface and the singular body includes a complementary stepped region on its inner surface such that when the seat is fit into the singular body, the stepped region of the seat and the complementary stepped region of the singular body interface with each other to prevent movement of the seat toward the spring. The pin includes a coating to reduce friction and galling.

Abstract:

A hydraulic axial piston pump has a rotating cylindrical barrel which defines pumping chambers and pistons reciprocating in the pumping chambers. A swash plate controls the length of travel of the pistons. During a part of each rotation of the barrel a piston will draw fluid into its complementary pumping chamber and during another part of each such rotation the piston will force fluid under pressure out of its complementary pumping chamber. Each chamber has an inlet valve which is closed when the pressure in the chamber exceeds the inlet pressure. Each chamber also has an outlet valve which is closed when the pressure in the outlet exitway exceeds the pressure in the chamber. High pressure fluid from the chambers is fed to shoes that ride on the swash plate to provide a fluid cushion between the shoes and the swash plate thus reducing friction.

Abstract:

Coaxial bidirectional spool valves are provided for use in fluid systems such as hydrostat systems where flow can proceed in opposite directions, and which direct flow through a unidirectional or multidirectional function such as a filter assembly in the normal direction regardless of the direction of flow in the system. The valve includes a spool valve reciprocably movable between two limiting positions according to fluid pressure differential across the valve and engaging one of a pair of bungee followers in each position, thereby intercepting and controlling flow through a box junction of the fluid line with the lines leading to and from the filter assembly in a manner such that, regardless of the direction of flow in the fluid line, flow proceeds in the same direction in the connecting fluid lines to and from the function.

Abstract:

A timing valve includes a moveable piston that has a solid end face at a first end that includes an orifice, an open second end, and side walls that define an enclosed space, a stepped region on an outer surface of the piston, complementary stepped region on an inner surface of a hollow body containing the piston, and an annulus that extends toward the second end defined by a space between the outer surface of the piston and the inner surface of the hollow body. Fluid flowing through the orifice pushes the piston into an open position that forms a space between the stepped and complementary stepped regions that fills with fluid seeping in through the annulus. When pressure on the piston falls below a threshold, the return of the piston to a closed position is slowed by expelling fluid from the space between the stepped and complementary stepped regions.
