Abstract:
A multipurpose cooler for storing and transporting items includes a cooler body having an insulated interior and an exterior; a lid connected to the cooler body to permit selective access to the interior; a basket having three walls and a bottom and being slidably connected to the cooler body to slide between a fully extended position forming, with the cooler body, a basket cavity for storing and transporting items and a fully retracted position wherein the basket cavity is substantially nonexistent.
A latch device for a hinged door including a resiliently flexible latch bar secured to the door and having a free portion extending along the inside of the door to an end portion, near the door edge, which engages a catch by means of the bending and straightening of the latch bar. Preferred embodiments include a stop bar similar to the latch bar, but extending beyond the opposite door edge to engage another catch to hold the door open. The latch and stop bars are preferably a single bar with two free portions at its opposite ends. The catches have bearing surfaces which distort the bar as the door swings to prepare it to snap into locking engagement with the catches. Access to the latch bar, to allow unlatching, is provided through the door.

Abstract:
A hood door assembly including a first door which swings about a generally horizontally disposed axis and a second door which swings about a generally vertical axis for providing access to an engine compartment for servicing of an engine. A rod is provided for holding the first door both in its open and closed positions. One end of the rod is pivotally attached to the hood while a free end of the rod is engageable within a slot in a retainer plate when the first door is closed. The rod includes a bent handle portion adjacent its free end which is rotated for engaging or releasing the free end of the rod within the retainer plate slot when the first door is closed. Further, when the first door is swung open about its generally horizontal axis, the free end of the rod is inserted through an opening in a bracket on the first door such that the bent handle portion engages the bracket for supporting the first door in an open position. When the first door is closed, the rod is swung into sliding engagement with the retainer plate slot such that a mid-portion of the rod is deflected against the first door bracket thereby resulting in spring tension against the bracket for holding the first door closed.
