Abstract:

A stacked patch antenna is disclosed which includes a first antenna element and a second antenna element for cooperating with the first antenna element. These antenna elements are preferably a passive parasitic element in combination with a driven element. A flexible substrate is provided having first and second opposing surfaces, each respectively in contact with the first and second antenna elements. The flexible substrate preferably has a desired dielectric property to provide a desired capacitance between the antenna elements. One or both of the antenna elements are formed on the respective opposing surface. The antenna element is preferably formed by printing.

Abstract:

A combination of near omni-directional antennas and internal patch antennas, all built into an access point in accordance with FCC requirements. Typically a printed antenna array is used for the near omni-directional antenna, and the internal patch antenna is a TM10 mode stacked patch antenna. A mechanical detect switch changes antenna types automatically, depending on the rotation state of the antenna system. Alternately, a configuration utility enables a user to select the antenna type for the access point when it is installed in the field. This arrangement gives the UNII access point flexibility to be mounted in various orientations and match the characteristics of the antenna to the installation requirements.

A configurable antenna system and method of implementing is disclosed, having particular use with a wireless access point of the type used with a wireless local area network. The antenna system includes an antenna arrangement for selectively varying between first and second operational positions. In the first operational position, the antenna arrangement operates in an omni-directional antenna mode. In the second operational position, the antenna arrangement operates in a directional antenna mode. A signal reflecting member is further provided for cooperating with the antenna arrangement in the second operational position, to substantially establish the antenna arrangement in a directional configuration.

Abstract:

Optimal determination of transmit power level for MLDs in A Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN). An AP can establish synchronous downlink multi-link operations with another MLD. A first link and a second link between the AP and the MLD both operate in a same sub-band. The AP can then determine the same power level for both the first link and second link. After establishing the same power level, the AP can then determine a second power level for the first link and a third power level for the second link. The second power level is greater than the third power level. The AP can then provide the second power level for the first link and the third power level for the second link.
