Abstract:
Method for producing an hydrophobically associative polymer is provided which is characterized by forming a monomer solution comprising a surfactant, at least one hydrophobic ethylenically unsaturated monomer, at least one hydrophilic monomer selected from nonionic ethylenically monomers, cationic ethylenically unsaturated monomers, anionic ethylenically unsaturated monomers or mixtures thereof, and water; forming a salt solution comprising a multivalent salt and water; mixing the monomer solution and salt solution to form a mixed solution; and charging the mixed solution with an initiator, thereby polymerizing the monomers to form the hydrophobically associative polymer in a dispersion. Aqueous dispersion containing the hydrophobically associative polymer formed by the method. The aqueous dispersion containing the hydrophobically associative polymer may be used in a paint formulation, in a mobility control fluid useful in enhanced oil recovery, in a secondary or tertiary oil recovery system, in an enhanced oil recovery method, in a cementious composition, in an oil well drilling mud formulation, in a fracturing fluid formulation, in a wastewater treatment system, or in a dewatering sludge system.

Abstract:
A method of extracting includes crushing to form a crude powder. An ethanol/water solution is used in an extraction tank to create an extracted solution, which is de-colorized using activated carbon. The extracted solution is concentrated and filtered, after which beta-cyclodextrin is added, resulting in a guest/host molecular complex solution. This solution is spray dried, resulting in a DHM rich solution. A beverage additive may include a dihydromyricetin (DHM)/beta-cyclodextrin molecular complex, wherein the DHM/beta-cyclodextrin molecular complex is a guest/host molecular complex, wherein DHM is present in an amount of at least 35 w/w %, and wherein the beverage additive is completely water soluble.
Method For Generating A Dihydromyricetin (Dhm) Formulation
A method of generating a soluble dihydromyricetin formulation may involve generating an acidic solution with a pH ranging between 2-7 pH in a reaction vessel by combining an organic acid in an aqueous solution at a first temperature range. The method may then generate a solvent mixture by combining the acidic solution with a sugar. The method may then heat the solvent mixture to a boil and then adjust the heat to the first temperature range generating a heated solvent mixture. The method may then combine cyclodextrin and dihydromyricetin (DHM) with the heated solvent mixture forming a DHM solution. The method may then mix the DHM solution at a first speed for a first time interval in a mixer. The method may then heat a mixed DHM solution at a second temperature range for a second time interval.

The present invention provides a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers. The water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer comprise a first monomer having hydrogen bonding/complexing properties to polyphenols, a second monomer having detergent properties, and a third monomer having hydrogen bonding/complexing properties to polyphenols, wherein the first monomer and the third monomer are the same or different. The present invention also provides oral care compositions comprising the water-soluble or water-dispersible polymers. The present invention also provides methods of cleaning, whitening and polishing natural teeth and dental prosthesis and of preventing, reducing or removing surface deposited stains from teeth by administering the oral care compositions. The water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer has a structure: wherein x, y, z, mole %, n, R, and Rare defined herein.
