Abstract:

An inventive system and method for group communication among devices in M2M networks comprises associating one or more of the devices with a gateway having a unique identifier, initiating registration of the devices at an M2M network using the unique identifier of the gateway, providing from the network a temporary identifier to the gateway and associating, in the network, the temporary identifier with the gateway, attaching the devices to the network using the temporary identifier, and communicating information between the network and the device through the gateway. In one aspect, the devices can be classified into sub-groups and each sub-group has a sub-group head that can be attached to the gateway so that the devices can communicate with the network through the sub-group head instead of the gateway. Each sub-group can be associated with a unique temporary identifier, in addition to the temporary identifier associated with the gateway.

Abstract:

A method for managing communications between a service origination node and a plurality of serving nodes where the serving nodes are simultaneously active for a particular trigger to thereby generate a reply to the service origination node. The method includes the step of determining control options for each trigger indicative of service categories by capturing service interaction principles supplied by a serving node services expert acting as a mentor. The service interaction principles are based upon a requirement of executing service categories in each of the serving nodes for each trigger. The method also includes the step of controlling execution of each of the service nodes and the service categories for the particular trigger with reference to the control options to generate the reply.

Abstract:

Methods and systems disclosed efficiently detect potential interactions between features in a telecommunications network. The methods and systems specify AIN (Advanced Intelligent Network) and switch-based features and detect their interactions when present within a feature package provided to a single subscriber. The methodology supports the assumption that each feature is created without the knowledge of other features, and that each feature is specified as a "black box," i. e. , nothing is known about its internal logic except its input/output behaviors. The invention models a call environment, models two or more features, and combines the call variable usage for each feature. Methods then compare the combined call variable usages to detect potential feature interactions. The invention assists a service mediator in the tasks of detecting potential interactions among AIN features provided by different third party service providers, and detecting potential interactions between a third party service provider's AIN features and switch-based features.
