Abstract:
A method and system for taking data in any format, either in a database such as Oracle, SQL, or another common database, and dynamically combining it with geographic information, i.e., a map or aerial or satellite photograph or other image, allows the user to display that data on a map, to analyze that data geographically or spatially or merely to provide information from certain locations. The result can be presented to the user as a single image that can, if desired, be interactive, allowing the user to access additional information not displayed or not capable of displaying on the map.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a selected population of neural cells, including neural stem cells, neural progenitor cells, neural precursor cells, and progeny thereof, which neural cells are selected for an apoE4 phenotype. In some embodiments, the neural cells are further selected for an apoE3 phenotype. The selected population of neural cells is useful in treating various disorders, such as neurodegenerative disorders and demyelination diseases. The present invention further provides methods of treating neurodegenerative disorders and demyelinating diseases, generally involving administering a subject selected cell population.

Abstract:
The present disclosure provides methods of reducing apoE4 fragment-mediated toxicity of interneurons, e.g, GABAergic interneurons. The present disclosure provides methods of treating apoE4-mediated neurological disorders in an apoE4-positive individual.
Time-Delay Closed-Loop Control Of An Infinitely Variable Transmission System For Tidal Current Energy Converters
A tidal current energy converter including an infinitely variable transmission (IVT) control system and a hybrid vertical axis wind (or water) turbine (VAWTs) apparatus. The hybrid VAWT apparatus includes a modified-Savonius (MS) rotor in the central region and a straight bladed H-type Darrieus rotor in the surrounding annular region. The IVT control system includes a nonlinear closed-loop control combined with an integral time-delay feedback control to adjust a speed ratio of the IVT. A speed ratio control for an IVT system involves a forward speed controller and/or a crank length controller for different speed ranges. The time-delay control is designed to reduce speed fluctuations of the output speed of an IVT with an accurate speed ratio. The speed ratio of an IVT with the disclosed control strategy can achieve an excellent tracking response for the desired constant output speed and reduce speed fluctuations of the output speed of an IVT by the time-delay feedback control.

The present disclosure describes innovations to improve the use of noncircular gear pairs in a transmission, e.g., an infinitely variable transmission. The noncircular gear pair includes a first noncircular gear with a first pitch curve; and a second noncircular gear with a second pitch curve. The first pitch curve includes a plurality of elliptical portions, and a curvature of the first pitch curve is positive along the entire first pitch curve; and wherein the second pitch curve is a conjugate of the first pitch curve.

Cloud-Based Medical Image Processing System With Tracking Capability
A cloud server receives a request for accessing medical image data from a client device, where the cloud server provides image processing services to users in image processing steps, resulting in image views. User privileges of a user are determined for accessing the medical image data. In response to receiving a command having a selection of an image view from the client device, the cloud server provides the medical image data based on the selected one or more image views. The user interactions of the user with the medical image data via the selected image views are tracked, including tracking how long in time the user has spent on a particular image view. The tracked user interactions are stored in a persistent storage, and an analysis is performed on the tracked user interactions stored in the persistent storage to determine an overall usage trend of the image views.
