Abstract:

An aerodynamic projectile is provided having a shell with an aerodynamic structure and a controlled center of gravity, and which exhibits improved aerodynamics and resulting accuracy, and which is suitable for less lethal uses. The projectile shell has a closed front cavity housing a payload, such as a marking agent, therein. The projectile shell also has an open rear portion to provide access to the open rear cavity, and to decrease the weight of the projectile and appropriately locate the center of gravity. The projectile shell also includes a plurality of fins on a sidewall member to enhance the accuracy of the projectile.

Abstract:

There is provided chain deflecting means such as rollers, sprockets or guides affixed to the cycle frame independent of the swing arm. A compressed gas powered gun includes an arrangement that meters the amount of air flow exiting through an outlet port of the gun that tends to restrict the velocity of the exiting air to be less than the speed of sound during normal operation. In addition, the exit velocity of the projectile is less sensitive to pressure variations and may be more closely controlled so that shot to shot consistency of the gun is increased. The firing rate of the gun can also be modified.

Abstract:

A first pulse train is generated by a phase-locked loop circuit of which the frequency is adjustable to correspond to engine speeds of between 10 and 9,990 rpm. The pulse train is again divided to furnish a second pulse train for use in firing the timing light. A photoelectric sensor is responsive to flashes from the timing light. A D type flip-flop is coupled to the second pulse train and to the photoelectric sensor and generates an enable signal commencing with a pulse in the second pulse train and terminating with the sensor signal. A counter receives the first pulse train and is operative to count the pulses therein during the presence of the enable signal. A display depicts a number representative of the number of pulses counted by the counter.
