Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for determining location of a weapon firing incident. In one exemplary embodiment, there is provided a system for determining the location of a weapon firing incident in proximate position to a region traversed by vehicles. The system includes a first set of sensors associated with a first sub-region of the region, for detecting the weapon firing incident and for generating an output, and a processing component that determines a location of the weapon firing incident based upon the output. Moreover, the system may also include a second set of sensors arranged to detect the weapon firing incident along the travel path traversed by the vehicles and for generating a second output. Other exemplary embodiments may include arrangements of the sensors in patterns is associated with sub-regions and/or travel path as well as weapon fire location processing features.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for processing information associated with weapon fire. In one exemplary embodiment, there is provided a method of processing information associated with weapon fire, including identifying a weapon fire incident, determining positional information regarding a source location of the weapon fire, and processing positional information regarding a device within a particular proximity of the source location of the weapon fire. Moreover, exemplary methods may include providing information for displaying the positional information of the source location of the weapon fire and the device together on a display. Other exemplary embodiments may include performing processing that provides one or more of source location of the weapon fire, device location information and/or other information related to the device for various uses.

Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed for processing information associated with monitoring persons/devices and weapon fire location information. In one exemplary implementation, a weapon fire location system is used to characterize and locate impulsive events and these locations are correlated with the positions of monitoring persons or devices, such as monitoring anklets placed on offenders or other persons of interest. Further, various information can be plotted on map, display, or for other graphical output to assist in the process of handling a weapon fire event. For example, when a monitoring device, whose position can be provided by GPS or alternate methods is found nearby a gunshot location, then associated graphical information can be presented on the output of the weapon fire location system or an associated display used by those monitoring the offenders.
Audio/Video Apparatus For Use With A Cable Television Network
An apparatus for transmitting multimedia data to a set-top box for distribution to a headend of a cable television. The apparatus includes an input for a signal containing multimedia data. The apparatus has a module for compressing the multimedia data and also a packetizing module. The packetizing module adds a header. Since the headend is the only destination of the multimedia data, a destination address is unnecessary in the header, but the header does include an indicator as to source and an order identifier for each of the packets. The headend can then receive the packets, re-order the packets and decompress the multimedia data. The data may then be processed by a processor at the headend that is assigned at the beginning of an interactive session.
An interactive television system, for providing interactive television service. The interactive television system has an information source available at a remote location for supplying a plurality of information services and an information network in communication with the remote location for delivering the information services to subscriber televisions. The interactive television system includes a plurality of home interface controllers. One of the home interface controllers is associated with a subscriber television. The home interface controller includes a data transceiver that is in communication with the remote location, and a selection input for receiving signals from a subscriber selection device. The home interface controller also has an interactive mode. The interactive television system also includes a node that is disposed at the remote location and provides information signals for transmission via the information network, so that when a given one of the home interface controllers is in the interactive mode signals at the selection input of the given home interface controller resulting from subscriber input via a subscriber selection device generate control data. The node receives the control data over the information network from the data transceiver of the given home interface controller. The node transmits a selected information signal that is capable of full motion video on a television information signal on the information network to the subscriber television with which the given controller is associated so that the given information signal is made available to the subscriber television. The content of the information signal is modified in response to control data resulting from subscriber input via the subscriber selection device.

Abstract:
A device and method for an interactive cable television system is described. A hardware peripheral device is associated with a modem in communication with a computer network. The peripheral device receives data from a user for communication via the computer network to a cable television network head end to control a television information signal delivered from the cable television network directly to a user television.
Distribution Of Interactive Information Content Within A Plurality Of Disparate Distribution Networks
An interactive information platform and method for distribution of interactive information content is shared by a plurality of disparate distribution networks. The interactive information platform includes a plurality of assignable sessions processors that render and encode the information content into a format capable of being decoded by a digital decoder associated with a television on any of the disparate distribution networks. The interactive information platform also includes an operation manager that receives requests for interactive television content from one or more digital decoders in one of a plurality of disparate distribution networks such as a cable television network, a telephone network, or a wireless network. The operation manager establishes an interactive session with the requesting digital decoder and assigns one of the sessions processors to the interactive session.

Abstract:
A social messaging hub provides communication services for a data enabled device having Internet network access capabilities. The social messaging hub communicates with the data enabled device over the Internet or cellular data networks, and interfaces with a message infrastructure including mobile carriers, message aggregators, message exchanges and various specialized social messaging services to enable bi-directional messaging communication. The user is given a registered phone number and unique IP addressable identification which serve as a source and destination identifier of the associated data enabled device. Messages may originate in or be delivered to other users' mobile telephones or in similarly equipped and provisioned IP data enabled devices. An application operating on the IP enabled device determines in conjunction with the social messaging hub a mode of transmission as a function of parameters including device location and destination of a message.
