A photochromic tanning and sunscreen lotion having photochromic compounds that change color upon exposure to sunlight or other sources of ultraviolet radiation (UV) to create the appearance of a tanned skin, and which also form a shield against UV radiation to thereby provide an effective sunscreen.
A tattoo that is invisible to the naked eye until the tattoo is exposed to ultraviolet radiation, whereupon the tattoo becomes visible to the naked eye, and which reverts to invisible upon removal from exposure to ultraviolet radiation. The tattoo is formed by embedding in the skin a mixture including a non-pigmented carrier and one or more photochromic compounds that undergo a photochemical transformation from colorless to colored upon exposure to ultraviolet radiation, and which revert to colorless upon removal from exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Abstract:
A process of treating natural rubber latex articles, such as gloves and condoms, to alter the characteristics of the article so as to improve its barrier properties and resistance to passage of harmful agents therethrough, and the article produced by the process. The article is manufactured in accordance with conventional methods and then treated with a reactive gas, in particular a halogen gas such as fluorine gas, or a mixture of gasses. The treatment is conducted in a sealed chamber in accordance with the protocol of the âLevel 1â fluorination treatment performed by Fluoro-Seal, Inc. , of Ontario, Calif.

An artificial fingernail is molded with an inlay on its top surface. In a preferred embodiment, the fingernail is colored to simulate the style of a French fingernail, with lighter colored cuticle and tip end portions and a darker color central portion. According to the invention, a fingernail-shaped base member is molded of a first, lighter color, preferably translucent, and an inlay of a second, darker color, preferably opaque, is molded into a top surface of the base member to produce areas of different color resulting in the desired fingernail style. Secure attachment of the inlay to the base member is insured by provision of a mechanical lock between the base member and the inlay.
