Abstract:

A computerized method for automatically analyzing a core file created by a computer system after an unexpected interrupt. The packages installed on the computer system are determined and patch files of descriptive data for previously identified patches are accessed to create a patch search set including patches configured for use with the installed packages. Patches in the patch search set are scored by assigning points to each patch based on scoring rules, e. g. , searching the patch descriptive data for matches between portions of the patch descriptive data and portions of the core file, including bug descriptions. For UNIXâ-based kernel core files, the scoring rules involve creating search criteria based on panic types and on panic metric data gathered from the core file. A detailed patch search report is created providing recommendations for each of the scored patches based on the assigned score and identifying patches for installation.

Abstract:

A computer method for automatically troubleshooting and preventing problems on a computer system. The method includes receiving data corresponding to the computer system including core files, supplemental configuration information, and other data. The method continues with processing the computer system data into a format useful for rapid analysis. The method uses a knowledge repository of phases and scripts. Each phase is a logical organization of scripts. Each script is an executable for identifying both the conditions that can lead to a problem as well as determining an actual instance of a problem. Execution of the method includes execution of the phases contained in the repository. Several optimizations are used to eliminate large quantities of scripts in order to improve run time. Phases produce intermediate results that can be used by subsequent phases to reduce complexity. A report is generated listing problems for the computer system with corrective actions.

The present disclosure relates to modular waveguide displays including: a modular frame; a waveguide lens attached to the modular frame, where the waveguide lens in configured to be attached to the modular frame to locate one or more waveguides within the waveguide lens in front of the modular frame; and an optical engine which is configured to be attached to the modular frame, wherein, when the optical engine is attached to the modular frame, the optical engine is configured to provide image containing information to a front side of the one or more waveguides. Advantageously, a modular waveguide display allows for customization by a user. The modular waveguide display is designed to operate without such components as the optical engine when such functionality is undesired to save weight and power. Abstract:

Systems and methods for a flexible, modular head-mounted display is provided. The head-mounted display system may comprise a base member and one or more arm members that are coupled to the base member. The arm member(s) may be coupled to the base member via a hinge system that allows the arm member(s) to move with respect to the base member. Interior walls of the hinge system may define a passage therethrough such that wiring may extend throughout the head-mounted display system. The head-mounted display system may further include a cover that encloses at least a portion of the hinge. The cover may overlap with the base member or the one or more arm members.

Abstract:

The invention is directed towards a wearable platform system (e.g., head-mounted computing device) that allows for various modular peripheral devices to be interchangeably attached and detached, as well as methods and systems for transitioning an operational mode of the wearable platform between a hard connection mode and a wireless connection mode when a peripheral device is attached to or removed from the wearable platform. Specifically, the wearable platform may include a base member coupled to one or more arm members. A variety of modular peripheral devices may be attached at a hardware interface of the wearable platform to provide varied functionality to the wearable platform. As a user begins to remove a peripheral device, the wearable platform system may determine the peripheral device is being removed from the wearable platform and may transition from a hard connection mode to a wireless connection mode.
