Abstract:
Medical diagnostic X-ray table assembly including an X-ray source and detector. The entire assembly is mounted on a cantilevered horizontal transverse pivot for being raised and lowered or tilted as a unit. The table assembly is mounted eccentrically to the horizontal transverse pivot so the table can clear the floor when tilted to the foot down position, yet the table is low enough to be mounted easily by a patient. The X-ray source and detector means are each supported by a series of superposed carriages driven by lead screw drives, thereby allowing the source and detector to independently translate transversely, longitudinally, and toward or away from the patient support. The X-ray source is also mounted on a transverse axis for being pivoted. A novel hydraulic mechanism is provided for tilting the table.

Abstract:
A resilient locking and sealing arrangement for a multi-channel reflective cavity scintillation detector useful in a CT scanner. The absorption coefficient of the detector window is minimized in order to enhance detector efficiency, by forming such window of layers of woven graphite fiber bonded together with epoxy. The detector window includes resilient sealing means positioned to engage the leading edge of unit cell elements assembled to form a detector array. Resilient lock means force the plate into a reference position and into contact with the resilient sealing means thereby to accurately locate the plate in the array, and also to provide an effective light seal.

Abstract:
Improved end blocks for the electrode array of a multicell radiation detector support the array and isolate it from the interior walls of an enclosed ionization chamber. A plunger extends from the rear wall of each end block and is biased by a spring within the end block to bear against the rear wall of the detector chamber, biasing the electrode array forwardly against front spacers to position the front edges of the electrodes in equidistantly spaced relation to a x-ray transmissive window formed in the front wall of the detector housing. The bias exerted by the springs is adjustable. A tool is inserted into each end block during assembly of the detector to retract the plungers while the array is being positioned within the opened ionization chamber. The invention greatly reduces noise in the detector caused by microphonics, thus improving the integrity of the detected signal and permitting shorter scanning times and other advantages.

Abstract:
On a diagnostic x-ray table, a first group of x-ray shielding panels are supported for rotation on a carrier and another group of panels are supported on a lever that is pivotally connected to the carrier. The lever may be aligned with the carrier to present the combined width of all panels across the front of a combination spot film and fluoroscopic device. Means responsive to pivoting the lever along the side of the apparatus rotate the first group of panels to substantial parallelism with second group to present the panels along the side of the apparatus when the spot film and fluoroscope device is angulated to put the patient being examined in an erect posture.

Sen. Andrew Brenner, R-Delaware, introduced Senate Bills 169 and 209. The former would prohibit vaccination mandates, specifically for a coronavirus, and requiring proof of vaccination. Sen. George Lang, R-West Chester, is a cosponsor.
My excellent colleague George Lang sat down with local actors Darryl Cox and our own Heather Warlick to talk about the remembrances of Hoffman on the set of Twister, which was filmed in various Oklahoma locations:
George Lang was born in Oklahoma City and raised in Houston and Tulsa. Following graduation from Jenks High School, Lang spent time in the military before studying journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
