Abstract:

Biometric authentication and verification are described. A method in biometric identification includes establishing a foundational biometric measurement based on a first user input. The method also includes providing a second user input at a biometric terminal, the second user input used by the biometric terminal to determine whether to acknowledge a verifying biometric measurement, in response to receipt of the established foundational biometric measurement and the second user input. The method may also include establishing the foundational biometric measurement, by the user, utilizing biometric equipment. Alternatively, the establishing of the foundational biometric measurement based on first user input is performed by providing the first user input to a biometric kiosk, the biometric kiosk using the first user input to establish the foundational biometric measurement. Advantages of the present invention include the ability to perform more secure biometric transactions.

A method for document processing includes receiving a first document input from a user at a first terminal, and transmitting the first document input to a second terminal. The method also includes receiving, at the second terminal, a second document input from a reviewer based on the first document input, and transmitting information related to the first document input and the second document input to a third terminal. The first document input may be associated with a patent application. The method may further include prompting the user for the first document input. The second document input may include a certification of the first document input by the reviewer. The method may further include formatting the first and/or second document inputs before the transmission to the third terminal. The second terminal may be located in Hawaii.

Abstract:

A specimen container includes an opening for receiving biological fluid specimens, and a body, wherein at least one of a body mid-section and a container base is substantially wider than the opening. The body mid-section may be curved and wider than the container base. Alternatively, the body mid-section may be flat and narrower than the container base. A detachable lid may be configured to cover the opening. In another embodiment, a specimen container includes a base member, a set of wall members fixedly connected to the base member, and a deflector cap configured to deflect fluid specimen material back into the specimen container. Advantages of the present invention include a specimen container that allows more complete and easier specimen collection and retention. These advantages may be achieved, at least in part, through better shape optimization of the specimen container.
