Abstract:

A toner composition comprising a primary resin and at least one additional polymeric component is improved by reactive compatibilization of the additional polymeric component and the resin. For example, effective amounts of a functional secondary resin and a functional silicone oil having functionality reactive therewith are included and mixed by extrusion so as to reduce or eliminate speckling in printing with the toner and to improve toner powder flow.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a magenta toner formulation that may be used in a toner printer cartridge for an electrophotographic printer. The magenta toner may include polymer resin binder containing three polymer resins with different number average molecular weight values. The concentration of such polymer resins may be selected to provide a desired temperature versus viscosity behavior for the magenta toner that may be configured to conform to the viscosity versus temperature provide for yellow, cyan and black toner.

The present invention relates to the combination of a chemically processed toner with extra particulate additive in a conical mixer. The toner may include polymer resins having a glass transition temperature (Tg) wherein the mixer and/or toner may be maintained below the glass transition temperature during mixing. Prior to mixing the toner particles may also be de-agglomerated or mechanically agitated.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a method of forming a toner composition, and to a toner composition, that has a controlled particle size distribution, wherein the particle size distribution may be controlled by adjusting the concentration of a charge control additive in a chemical process of toner manufacture. The toner may therefore have a controlled amount of toner particles having diameters of less than or equal to about 4.0 microns. The toner may therefore provide improved resistance to filming on a given printer component.
