Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device generally in the form of an oil lamp and adapted to a dual function of diffusing light and a volatile material. The device includes a fuel and a wick formed of combustible material, and a heat conductive element adapted to receive a gel or solid material capable of melting at the burning temperatures of the device. The material is a carrier for a volatile substance that is released into the atmosphere upon melting of the carrier material. Fragrances are preferred embodiments of the volatile substance. Methods for use of the device in the simultaneous diffusion of light and volatile substances, namely fragrances, are also disclosed.
The present invention relates to transparent gel candle bases that may be used as a base material of transparent candles, to the transparent candles made therefrom, and to methods of making such candle bases and candles. The transparent gel candle bases of the present invention include a hydrocarbon oil and a gelling agent comprising dibutyl lauroyl glutamide and dibutyl ethylhexanoyl glutamide.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to the field of perfumery. It relates more particularly to a gel device which allows for an effective and prolonged evaporation of an active volatile ingredient. The gel device of the present invention includes an active volatile ingredient and a gelling agent of dibutyl lauroyl glutamide and dibutyl ethylhexanoyl glutamide.
Candles Capable Of Diffusing A Plurality Of Active Volatile Substances Simultaneously
The present invention relates to candles capable of diffusing a plurality of volatile active substances simultaneously, a base portion, at least one wick and a plurality of cartridges carrying the volatile active substances to be diffused, the base portion being provided with a plurality of holes adapted to receive the cartridges. The invention further relates to a method for diffusing a plurality of active substances simultaneously comprising manufacturing and burning such candle.
A heat transfer system is provided, adapted to transfer heat from the flame of the oil lamp to fuel contained within the oil lamp. The heat transfer system has a heat absorbing region disposed near the flame, and a heat dissipating region disposed within the container, connected to the heat absorbing region by a thermally conductive path. If the fuel contains a fragrance, heating the fuel enhances the amount of fragrance volatilized from the fuel.
