Abstract:

Specific fluoroethoxy pyrimidines and triazines are useful as general or selective preemergent and postemergent herbicides. Ortho-ethoxy and ortho-propoxy substituted benzenesulfonamides, such as 2-ethoxy-N-[[4-methoxy-6-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]aminoca rboxyl]benzenesulfonamide and N-[[4-methoxy-6-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl]aminocarbonyl]- 2-propoxybenzenesulfonamide, and their agriculturally suitable salts show pre-emergent and postemergent herbicidal utility in corn.
