Abstract:

A condition management callback system and method for use with a processor employing a hierarchical register consolidation structure. In one embodiment, the system includes: (1) a condition management structure, (2) a callback abstraction subsystem configured to register a callback for at least one element object in the condition management structure and store logically abstracted data associated with the callback and (3) an abstraction retrieval subsystem configured to employ the condition management structure to determine a condition of at least one status indicator in the condition management structure by traversing the hierarchical register consolidation structure, initiate the callback based on the condition and pass the logically abstracted data if the element object representing the status indicator has the callback registered.

Abstract:

A commode seat for a conventional foldable wheelchair including a solid base that rests upon the horizontal seat support rails of a wheelchair when opened. The rectangular opening in the base is centered in the seat. The seat has a waste receptacle support pan mounted on the underside in alignment with the rectangular opening. The support pan is positioned to receive the similarly shaped removable waste receptacle. A U-shaped lifting plate is hinged attached onto the front of base and a sliding center section to cover waste receptacle opening is powered by direct current electric motors. Motors receive current from a power pack mounted on underside of seat. The seat can be operated by a seated invalid without assistance.

Abstract:

A method of performing joint arthroplasty includes accessing a surface on a bone and supporting a stop with the accessed surface. The method includes positioning an instrument at least partially within the stop, the instrument having a body and a punch, the punch including a portion thereof having a shape similar to a shape of a stem of an implant, and rotating the stop with respect to the accessed surface based upon an indicia on one of the body and the stop so as to position the punch rotationally with respect to the accessed surface at a first orientation. The method further includes moving the body axially with respect to the stop to form a cavity in the bone with the punch at the first rotational orientation, the formed cavity having a shape similar to the stem of the implant, and implanting the stem of the implant into the cavity.

Abstract:

A method of performing joint arthroplasty includes preparing a flat surface on a long bone, providing an instrument having a body and a punch extending from the body, the punch including a portion thereof having a shape similar to a stem of an implant, positioning a stop on the flat surface, rotating the stop with respect to the surface of the long bone based upon an indicia on one of the body and the stop so as to position the punch rotationally with respect to the surface to a desired orientation when the instrument is at least partially inserted into the stop, using the instrument to form a cavity in the long bone with the punch at the desired rotational orientation with the instrument inserted at least partially within the stop, the cavity having a shape similar to the stem of the implant, and implanting the stem into the cavity.
