Abstract:

A circuit breaker subassembly is disclosed. The subassembly includes a base, an operating mechanism, a one-piece non-conductive rotor disposed within the base, and a plurality of sets of contact arms supported by the rotor. The rotor is disposed in operable connection with the operating mechanism and includes a rotational degree of freedom relative to the base with portions of the rotor disposed between each set of the plurality of sets of contact arms to define separation portions. The operating mechanism includes a frame disposed within the base, a cradle in pivotal connection with the frame, an upper link in pivotal connection with the cradle, and a lower link having a first end and a second end, the first end in pivotal connection with the upper link and the second end in pivotal connection with the rotor at the separation portions.

Abstract:

A trip unit for use with a circuit protection device including a trip mechanism includes a support bracket and a magnet member coupled to the support bracket. The magnet member is configured to emit a magnetic field when a current is transmitted through the trip mechanism. The magnet member includes a first side portion, a second side portion, and a rear portion coupled between the first side portion and the second side portion. The trip unit also includes a pivot arm pivotally coupled to the support bracket. The pivot arm includes a first end, a second end, and a curved portion coupled to the first end and the second end. The pivot arm is configured to pivot towards the magnet member to cause the trip mechanism to interrupt the current when the current exceeds a first threshold.

A contact arm assembly and a method for assembling the contact arm assembly are provided. The contact arm assembly includes a first contact arm having a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion has a first contact disposed thereon and a first spring holder portion disposed thereon. Abstract:

In one embodiment, a molded case circuit breaker is provided. The molded case circuit breaker includes a molded base defining at least one cavity and a tie bar coupled to the molded base and extending across the cavity. The tie bar is configured to reduce fracture and separation of the molded base during a high pressure event.
