Abstract:
A system for delivering an antimicrobial agent into the lumen of a trans-dermal catheter. In an embodiment, the system comprises an elongate member configured for insertion into a lumen of a catheter; an expandable portion of the elongate member, said expandable portion configured to increase in diameter upon exposure to an aqueous fluid; and an antimicrobial composition positioned to be delivered into the catheter. In another embodiment, the system comprises an elongate member configured for insertion into a lumen of a trans-dermal catheter, said elongate member comprising a hydrogel; and an antimicrobial composition positioned to be delivered into the catheter; wherein the elongate member defines a volume of liquid that is at least substantially contained within the lumen of the trans-dermal catheter.
A vibratory concrete screed including alternating turnbuckles and tubular housings, mated together for adjusting tension and screeding surface camber. The turnbuckles and tubular housings include interior space therethrough which houses an elongate rotatable shaft for providing vibration. The elongate shaft includes eccentric weights rotating within bearings within the turnbuckles and driven by drive shafts driven in turn by a motor located at one end of the screed. The screed includes male and female joiner pieces having mating bearing surfaces for securing abutting screed sections. The invention also includes a laser alignment system for adjusting camber.

Colored Ink For Pad Transfer Printing Of Silicone Hydrogel Lenses
The present invention provides an ink and a method of using the ink for making colored contact lenses. The ink comprises at least one colorant, a silicone-containing binder polymer, a solvent, a vinylic-monomer mixture, and optionally a photoinitiator or thermal initiator. The silicone-containing binder polymer is a copolymerization product of a polymerizable mixture including (i) at least one hydrophilic vinylic monomer; (ii) at least one functionalizing vinylic monomer containing at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl group —OH, amino group —NHR (wherein R is hydrogen or C1 to C8 alkyl), carboxylic group —COOH, epoxy group, amide group —CONHR, and combinations thereof; (iii) at least one silicone-containing vinylic monomer or macromere.
