Abstract:

There are provided methods and apparatus for parallel implementations of 4:4:4 coding. A video encoder for encoding video signal data for an image block includes an encoder () for encoding all color components of the image block by selecting a common block partition and a common spatial prediction mode. The common block partition and the common spatial prediction mode are selected by concurrently evaluating all of the color components in parallel.

Abstract:

A video system such as a television signal receiver includes a touch screen that may be suitable for larger image screens. According to an exemplary embodiment, the video system includes a screen having first and second sides, wherein a depression of the screen on the first side produces an image detectable on the second side. At least one projector is disposed on the second side of the screen and projects a first video signal onto the screen. At least one camera is disposed on the second side of the screen and detects the image. A processor determines a location of the depression according to the detected image.

Abstract:

A method and apparatus are described for embedding information in digital cinema content, including accepting a scene from a digital cinema content file, selecting a scene object in the scene to be modified with the information, determining a characteristic for the selected scene object and generating a scene build based on the characteristic, wherein the characteristic is representative of the information. The method and apparatus further include time-stamping, compressing and storing the scene build. Further, a method and apparatus are described for embedding forensic information in digital cinema content, accepting a digital cinema content file having therein a plurality of scene builds, accepting a forensic code and selecting a scene build from the digital cinema content file based on the forensic code. The scene build, having forensic information, is thereafter displayed.

Abstract:

A method, apparatus and system for anti-piracy protection and verification include a first projection device configured to project image frames onto a screen. A feedback device records a plurality of consecutive frames, an image analyzing module analyzes image properties of the recorded frames and a modulator creates anti-sampling system content to be projected contemporaneously with the image frames. The projected anti-sampling system content, while virtually invisible to the human eye, is detectable by sampling systems such as camcorders, thus rendering any such pirated recordings of the protected image content useless. The first projection device can include a security processor configured for comparing the recorded content with an expected content in real-time. A display enable/disable module is provided for disabling the projection of the content on the screen if the recorded content does not match the expected content.

A method and apparatus for optimizing wireless local area network communications are described including receiving a request, from a wireless device, to join a multicast group in order to receive multicast data, determining if the request is a request from a subsequent wireless device for the same multicast data, converting the multicast data to unicast data, if the request is not from a subsequent wireless device or the request is not for the same multicast data and transmitting the converted data to the wireless device that requested the multicast data.
