Abstract:

A hood assembly () adapted to be coupled to a vehicle having a hood () moveable between an open position and a closed position. The hood assembly includes a hood sub-frame () which includes a headlight mounting assembly () for permitting a left and right headlight ( and ) to be mounted to a left and right side of the hood sub-frame. The hood sub-frame also includes a hood mounting assembly ( and ) for coupling the hood sub-frame to the hood such that the hood sub-frame moves with the hood when the hood is coupled to the hood mounting assembly and moved between the open and closed positions. Abstract:

A vehicle interior cooling system () for a vehicle having a cabin () and an engine () for providing propulsion power generally includes a first cabin cooling system () driven by the engine of the vehicle having a first condenser (). The vehicle interior cooling system also generally includes a second cabin cooling system () driven by electrical power having a cold storage device () and a second condenser (), with the first condenser and the second condenser being in an airflow line (). The second cabin cooling system selectively thermally charges the cold storage device when the engine is in an on position. The second cabin cooling system is also selectable to thermally cool the cabin when the engine is in an off position and selectable to thermally cool the cabin when the engine is in the on position.

Abstract:

A fairing assembly is suitable for use with a heavy duty vehicle having a cab mounted to a frame, wherein relative motion occurs between the cab and the frame during vehicle operation. The fairing assembly extending downwardly from a lower portion of the cab and includes a fairing panel and a hinge for hingedly connecting an upper portion of the fairing panel to a lower portion of the cab. The hinge defines a hinge line extending in a generally longitudinal direction. The fairing assembly further includes a link having a first end rotatably connected to a lower portion of the fairing panel and a second end rotatably connected to the frame. The link substantially limits rotation of the fairing panel about the hinge line and rotates relative to the fairing panel to allow for relative motion between the frame and the cab.

Abstract:

Assemblies for selectively providing access to an interior portion of a vehicle having a sidewall are provided. Methods of manufacturing a vehicle that incorporates the assemblies are also provided. The assemblies utilize an access opening formed in a portion of a sidewall of the vehicle to facilitate trimming the interior of the vehicle. Upon completion of trimming the interior of the vehicle, the access opening is closed out (i.e., covered) with an assembly that may be a door, a fixed panel, or combinations thereof.
