Abstract:
The present invention provides for a bridge fitting for use in a fluid manifold system for being in fluid communication with two or more surface mounted fluid components having an inlet port and an adjacent outlet port. The invention also provides for a housing with a first port connected to a second port, with an internal fluid passageway joining the first and second ports and at least one projection extending from the housing. The bridge fittings may be mounted in a channel block having a groove and an aligned hole for receiving the projection. Another embodiment of the invention provides for a modular surface mount check valve with a valve body having a mounting flange connected thereto, the flange being substantially planar and having an inlet passage located about the center of the flange and an outlet passage located adjacent the inlet passage. The body further comprises a valve chamber in fluid communication with the inlet passage and the outlet passage, the chamber further comprising a valve seat formed at the juncture of the inlet passage and the chamber, and a poppet positioned in the chamber, and a spring mounted in the valve chamber for biasing the poppet towards the valve seat. The invention also provides an air actuated surface mount flow control valve comprising a valve body having a mounting flange connected thereto and the flange being substantially planar and having an inlet passage located about the center of the flange and an outlet passage located adjacent the inlet passage, the body further comprising a cavity in fluid communication with the inlet passage and the outlet passage, a stem positioned in the cavity, and a spring mounted in the cavity for biasing a first end of the stem in sealing engagement with the inlet passage and the outlet passage, the stem further comprising an internal fluid passageway in fluid communication with an actuator fluid compartment located under a lower surface of the stem, and the external source of pressure.

Abstract:
A bridge fitting for use with two or more surface mounted components includes a housing having at least a first port disposed on a first side of the housing, at least a second port non-coaxial with the first port and disposed on a second side of the housing opposite the first side of the housing, and an internal fluid passageway connecting the first and second ports. The internal fluid passageway is configured to limit fluid flow within the bridge fitting to a single path between the first and second ports.

Abstract:
A conduit fitting of the type having first and second threaded fitting components and at least one conduit gripping device, further includes a stroke limiting member that allows the fitting to be pulled up by applying a predetermined torque. In one embodiment, the stroke limiting member may be a non-integral torque collar and in another embodiment the stroke limiting member may be two engaging surfaces integrally formed with the fitting components. Alternatively, the fitting may also be pulled up by turns. In still another embodiment, a stroke limiting member is provided that may be used to enable a fitting that is designed to be pulled up by turns to also be pulled up by torque. The stroke limiting member facilitates many remakes of the fitting, including remakes by torque.

Abstract:
A push to connect fitting includes a body member adapted to receive a conduit end, a conduit comprising a first end that can be axially inserted into the body member and a conduit gripping device attached to an exterior surface of the conduit, and a retainer that retains the conduit in place when said conduit is fully inserted into the body member. Additional embodiments include providing a seal with the fitting that seals the exterior surface of the conduit, an optional load retaining sleeve for the conduit gripping device, and an optional gimbal. The push to connect aspect may be realized in the form of a single action unthreaded mechanical connection.

Abstract:
A poppet type excess flow valve comprises a body forming a valve chamber having a first portion of a first diameter adjacent a first end and a second portion of a second smaller diameter adjacent second end. A valve seat is located between the first and second portions of the valve chamber. A poppet element is mounted in the valve chamber and includes a first section in the form of a hollow cylindrical body extending into the second portion of the valve chamber and terminating therein in an open end. The outer diameter of the hollow cylindrical body section is only slightly less than the diameter of the second portion of the valve chamber for guided sliding movement therein. The poppet element further includes a second section located in the first portion of the valve chamber and including an end wall carrying a valving surface extending radially outward for cooperation with the valve seat. A compression coil spring maintains the poppet element continually biased under a predetermined force toward the inlet port, and flow passages are formed through the hollow cylindrical body portion of the poppet element at a location closely adjacent the valving surface.

Abstract:
A ferrule subassembly for a conduit fitting includes first and second ferrules. The first female includes a front body portion defining a forward tapered surface, a rear body portion defining an interior camming surface, and a retaining extension joined with the rear body portion radially outward of the camming surface and extending axially rearward and radially inward from the inner axial portion. The second ferrule includes a front portion having a tapered forward contact surface adjacent the first ferrule camming surface, an outer radial portion extending axially rearward of the forward contact surface, and a recessed portion axially rearward of the outer radial portion. An end portion of the retaining extension is received in the recessed portion of the second female to retain the ferrule with the first ferrule as a discontinuous subassembly.
