Abstract:

Applicants have synthesized a family of microporous aluminosilicate zeolites and substituted versions thereof which are identified as UZM-8. These new compositions can be prepared using either only one or more organoammonium cations, such as diethyldimethylammonium or ethyltrimethylammonium cations and optionally an alkali and/or an alkaline earth cation as structure directing agents. The UZM-8 compositions are described by an empirical formula of and have a unique x-ray diffraction pattern.

Abstract:

An aluminosilicate zeolite and substituted versions designated UZM-15 have been synthesized. These zeolites are prepared using an organoammonium cation as a template in which at least one organic group has at least 2 carbon atoms. An example of such a cation is diethyldimethylammonium cation. The template can optionally comprise other organoammonium cations, alkali metals and alkaline earth metals. These UZM-15 materials can be dealuminated by various processes to provide UZM-15HS compositions. Both the UZM-15 and UZM-15HS compositions are useful as catalysts or catalyst supports in various process such as the conversion of cyclic hydrocarbons to non-cyclic hydrocarbons and olefin oligomerization.

Abstract:

Provided are methods and devices for evaluating dynamic middle ear muscle activity in a subject. A probe is provided having a speaker and a microphone in sound-wave communication with an eardrum associated with the middle ear muscle of the subject. A sound wave is generated from the speaker and transmitted to the eardrum. The sound wave that is reflected is detected and a reflected sound wave property measured. The input sound wave may be comb input to fully extend ossicle movement in all available vibratory modes, thereby providing maximum information as to dynamic middle ear muscle activity.

Abstract:

A new family of crystalline microporous metallophosphates designated AlPO-77 has been synthesized. These metallophosphates are represented by the empirical formulawhere M is a framework metal alkaline earth or transition metal of valence +2, and E is a trivalent framework element such as aluminum or gallium. The AlPO-77 compositions are characterized by a new unique ABC-6 net structure, and have catalytic properties suitable for carrying out various hydrocarbon conversion processes, as well as characteristics suitable for adsorption applications.

Abstract:

A method for fabricating a semiconductor device, such as a GaN high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) device, including etching a thermal via into a back-side of a semiconductor substrate and depositing a diamond nucleation seed layer across the back-side of the substrate. The method further includes coating the diamond nucleation with a mask layer and removing mask material outside of the thermal via on the planar portions of the back-side of the substrate. The method includes removing portions of the diamond nucleation layer on the planar portions and then removing the remaining portion of the mask material in the thermal via. The method then includes depositing a bulk diamond layer within the thermal via on the remaining portion of the diamond nucleation layer so that diamond only grows in the thermal via and not on the planar portions of the substrate.
