Abstract:

A method and apparatus for analyzing a bit stream having an unknown format that is conveyed through a communications network. The method includes the steps of: (a) storing a plurality of sequentially occurring bits received from a communications network; (b) analyzing a plurality of the stored bits to detect periodicities in the bits; and (c) determining if the detected periodicities exhibit characteristics associated with a known type of data communications format, particularly a synchronous time-division-multiplexed (TDM) data communications format or a packetized data communications format. The step of analyzing includes a step of performing a statistical analysis of the stored bits.

Abstract:

A communications network may be used to convey Short Message Service (SMS) messages using the Internet Protocol (IP). User equipment may transmit an SMS-over-IP Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message to wireless equipment over a high-bandwidth communications link. The wireless equipment may route the SMS-over-IP SIP message to the ePDG. When the high-bandwidth link is unavailable, the user equipment may transmit a compressed message to the proxy server over a low-bandwidth communications link. The proxy server may convert the compressed message into an SMS-over-IP SIP message that is transmitted to the ePDG. The proxy server may serve as a proxy for the first user equipment from the perspective of the ePDG. This may allow SMS message data to continue to be conveyed through the communications network even when the high-bandwidth communications link becomes unavailable.

Abstract:

This application is directed to a camera system having one or more processors, memory having a limited capacity, a camera element and a microphone. The camera system captures video and audio data in real-time via the camera element and the microphone, respectively. While capturing the video and audio data in real-time, the captured video and audio data are stored in the memory having the limited capacity, and sent to a remote server system via the communication interface for storage by the remote server system. The camera system determines that a portion of the video and audio data was not available at the remote server system. In accordance with a determination that at least some of the portion is still available in the memory having the limited capacity, the camera system resends the at least some of the portion from the memory to the remote server system via the communication interface.

Abstract:

A computer system processes a video stream to detect a start of a first motion event candidate in the video stream, and in response to detecting the start of the first motion event candidate in the video stream, initiates event recognition processing on a first video segment associated with the start of the first motion event candidate. Initiating the event recognition processing further includes: determining a motion track of a first object identified in the first video segment; generating a representative motion vector for the first motion event candidate based on the motion track of the first object; and sending the representative motion vector for the first motion event candidate to an event categorizer, where the event categorizer assigns a respective motion event category to the first motion event candidate based on the representative motion vector of the first motion event candidate.

Abstract:

The various implementations described herein include methods, devices, and systems for detecting motion and persons. In one aspect, a method is performed at a smart home system that includes a video camera, a server system, and a client device. The video camera captures video and audio, and wirelessly communicates, via the server system, the captured data to the client device. The server system: (1) receives and stores the captured data from the video camera; (2) determines whether an event has occurred, including detected motion; (3) in accordance with a determination that the event has occurred, identifies video and audio corresponding to the event; and (4) classifies the event. The client device receives information indicative of the identified events, displays a user interface for reviewing the video and audio stored by the remote server system, and displays the at least one classification for the event.

A data streaming system includes one or more processors, memory, and a circular buffer stored in the memory. The system includes a media loader process that retrieves frames from a media source and writes the retrieved frames in chronological order to the circular buffer. The system includes a forward dispatch process that transmits frames from the circular buffer to a destination server in chronological order in real-time. The system also includes a backfill dispatch process that executes in response to receiving a backfill request from the destination server, transmitting frames from the circular buffer to the destination server in reverse chronological order.

Abstract:

A computing system processes a video recording to identify a plurality of motion events, each corresponding to a respective video segment along a timeline of the video recording. The computing system identifies at least one object in motion within a scene depicted in the video recording and stores a respective event mask for each event. The computing system receives a definition of a zone of interest within the scene. In response to receiving the definition, the computing system determines, for each motion event, whether the respective event mask of the motion event overlaps with the zone of interest by at least a predetermined overlap factor, and identifies one or more events of interest from the plurality of motion events, wherein the respective event mask of each identified event of interest is determined to overlap with the zone of interest by at least the predetermined overlap factor.
