Abstract:

A method for determining a bill for a software application, said method comprising providing use of the application by a subject, determining a number of billable CPU minutes associated with the use of the application, and determining the bill based on the number of billable CPU minutes. The method includes determining a number of events, wherein the bill is determined based on the number of CPU minutes and the number of events, wherein determining a number of CPU minutes further comprises determining a number of blades, determining a number of cores for each blade, and measuring a clock time for the use of the application.

Abstract:

A free floating disc valve having a positive closure arrangement thereon. A containment vessel enclosing a volume communicable with a pressure chamber is disposed above the valve disc and permits introduction into the pressure chamber of a high pressure fluid entrapped within the containment volume to provide a force to assist the seating of the valve disc.

Abstract:

Apparatus and method for automatically determining and indicating that the rotor of a steam turbine has attained a predetermined minimal temperature. Means are utilized for measuring axial dimensional changes of the steam turbine cylinder and rotor due to an increased temperature and summing pertinent axial dimensional changes thereby determining the axial expansion of the rotor which in turn, through known physical properties of the rotor material, corresponds to a temperature increase. This increase of the temperature added to the initial temperature of the rotor provides the total temperature, and upon the total temperature reaching a predetermined value, the steam turbine is available to be brought up to speed and loaded.

Several means for providing superheated steam varying in pressure and temperature in a plurality of cavities serially disposed between blade discs of a steam turbine in which steam flows from a high pressure to a low pressure portion and improved seals disposed at the radially outer periphery of the cavities which cooperate with the means for providing superheated steam in the cavities to eliminate moisture in the cavities and eliminate stress corrosion in the blade discs.

Abstract:

A mailbox unit comprising a hollow housing member mounted on a support member affixed to a base. Hinges are connected to the housing member and support member for allowing the mailbox to tilt upon being struck by a damaging lateral force. The base has a bottom that comprises a beveled outer portion that converges downward defining a generally conical shape with a flat center portion which permits the mailbox unit to rock after being subjected to a damaging lateral force.
