The RSPCA claims its chief executive, Heather Neil, spoke to one of the Agriculture Minister's advisers and told him evidence had been collected that was more horrific than the slaughter of cattle in Egypt in 2006, which prompted a suspension of trade.
HEATHER NEIL: Every abattoir that Australian animals were going to, they have to meet Australian standards first, we'd have to have inspectors there assuring that they're meeting Australian standards, just like occurs here.
