She also reported she was not a pilot, though she did have some flight training 15 or 20 years ago. Still, sBy the time the midair drama ended an hour later Monday evening, both Helen Collins and Vuksanovic would be hailed as heroes for keeping cool heads during an emergency that could have ended disastrously.Vuksanovic quickly caught up to Helen Collins as she circled 1,500 feet above the airport, traveling at an airspeed of about 120 knots. Kasbohm listened in on the radio conversations between Vuksanovic and Helen Collins.Meanwhile, the Door County Sheriff's Department scrambled firefighters, ambulances and deputies to the airport. At first officials considered sending Helen Collins to the Green Bay airport but discarded that idea because her plane was low on fuel.
