    Mar 5, 1990
  • Appl. No.:
    7/488553
  • Inventors:
Henry J. Sniadoch - Canandaigua NY
  • Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
  • International Classification:
    G03C 1295
    G03C 134
  • US Classification:
    430603
  • Abstract:
A photographic recording material is provided which has enhanced photographic properties, such as sharpness values without substantial decrease in photographic speed.
  • Metal Complexes Of Copolymers Comprising Vinylimidazole And Their Use In Photographic Elements

    view source
  • US Patent:
    42738539, Jun 16, 1981
  • Filed:
    Mar 30, 1979
  • Appl. No.:
    6/025686
  • Inventors:
Ignazio S. Ponticello - Rochester NY
Henry J. Sniadoch - Rochester NY
    George Villard - Rochester NY
  • Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
  • International Classification:
    G03C 700
    G03C 140
    G03C 554
  • US Classification:
    430213
  • Abstract:
A photographic element comprises a support having thereon a layer containing a copolymer comprising a vinylimidazole in association with metal ions. The metal forms a novel complex with the polymer and photographic elements comprising these materials are useful in diffusion transfer processes, and particularly useful with metal-coordinating dyes such as chelating dyes or dye-forming materials to provide a metallized dye image.
  • Silver Halide Light-Sensitive Element

    view source
  • US Patent:
    56502656, Jul 22, 1997
  • Filed:
    Dec 22, 1995
  • Appl. No.:
    8/577757
  • Inventors:
Henry Joseph Sniadoch - Canandaigua NY
Gary Norman Barber - Penfield NY
  • Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
  • International Classification:
    G03C 185
  • US Classification:
    430530
  • Abstract:
Palladium compounds are incorporated into a relatively low speed photographic print element. One embodiment of the invention comprises a silver halide light sensitive photographic print element comprising a support bearing at least one silver halide emulsion image forming layer, an antistatic layer containing vanadium pentoxide, and a palladium compound. In a preferred embodiment, the silver halide light sensitive photographic print element of the invention comprises a support bearing on one side thereof at least one blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion yellow-image forming layer, at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion cyan-image forming layer, and at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion magenta-image forming layer; an antistatic layer containing vanadium pentoxide; and a palladium compound. The photographic print elements of the invention improve unexpected poor keeping performance under moderate humidity conditions demonstrated by print elements which comprise vanadium pentoxide containing antistatic layers. The elements of the invention additionally provide excellent protection against static charge and excellent transparency due to the use of vanadium pentoxide, which properties are not significantly dependent on ambient humidity.
  • Use Of Colloidal Silver To Improve Push Processing Of A Reversal Photographic Element

    view source
  • US Patent:
    52983692, Mar 29, 1994
  • Filed:
    Jun 14, 1993
  • Appl. No.:
    8/076334
  • Inventors:
Jal F. Munshi - Rochester NY
Henry J. Sniadoch - Canandaigua NY
Richard C. Tuites - Rochester NY
  • Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
  • International Classification:
    G03C 109
    G03C 1494
  • US Classification:
    430379
  • Abstract:
When color reversal materials are developed by a process that comprises prolonged contact with the first, or black-and-white developer, images with a color mismatch or speed deficiency can occur. Such undesirable results can be reduced or eliminated by including in the reversal material, a layer of colloidal elemental silver. The layer can be adjacent to a light sensitive, silver halide-containing layer, which is present within a color record who's speed is to be increased in order to reduce the color mismatch. The amount of colloidal elemental silver employed is less than that used in the art to protect an underlying light sensitive, silver halide layer from exposure by unwanted light.
