US Classification:

Abstract:
A system and method for managing locally-initiated medical device interrogation is presented. A noncontinuously coupleable interface is provided over which to retrieve patient data recorded and transiently staged by a medical device monitoring physiological measures of a patient. The patient data is periodically retrieved by interfacing to and interrogating the medical device per a pre-defined schedule defining autonomous patient data retrieval frequency. Further retrieval of the patient data is permitted independent of the pre-defined schedule by enabling operation of the interface based on a remotely-specifiable criteria for controlling locally-initiated patient data retrieval.
Event Marker Alignment By Inclusion Of Event Marker Transmission Latency In The Real-Time Data Stream
James Hiebert - St. Paul MN, US Allan Koshiol - Lino Lakes MN, US Howard Simms - Oakdale MN, US
Assignee:
Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc.
International Classification:
A61N001/32
US Classification:
607/032000
Abstract:
A cardiac rhythm management system transmits event markers from an implantable device to a remote user interface such as an external programmer. The event markers include timestamp information. A printed/displayed event marker representation is aligned to a printed/displayed heart signal representation based at least in part on the timestamp information. Proper alignment of the printed/displayed heart signal representation to the printed/displayed event marker, and proper alignment of the printed/displayed event markers with respect to each other, provides more accurate diagnostic information to the caregiver. This assists the caregiver in using the cardiac rhythm management system to provide a patient with proper cardiac rhythm management therapy.
System And Method For Temporary Programming For Implanted Medical Devices
Kenneth Hoyme - Plymouth MN, US Alan Smythe - White Bear Lake MN, US Howard Simms - Shoreview MN, US Conrad Sowder - Minneapolis MN, US David Ternes - Roseville MN, US Sylvia Quiles - Edina MN, US
International Classification:
A61N 1/08
US Classification:
607060000, 607030000
Abstract:
A system and method for temporary programming of an implantable medical device. The system and method include a repeater uploading temporary programming and instructions to a temporary memory of the device and then instructing the device to operate according to the temporary instructions. If during a first time period, the device is not in continuous periodic communication with the repeater, the device automatically reverts to operation under the normal operating instructions. At the end of the first time period, the caregiver or the patient may decide to revert to the normal programming. During a second time period, the device operates according to the temporary programming unless the caregiver or the patient instructs the device to revert to the normal programming, or the device fails to receive a periodic continuation signal from the repeater. Adverse health affects to the patient may also trigger the device to revert to the normal programming during either the first or second time period.
Generating And Communicating Web Content From Within An Implantable Medical Device
Methods, systems, and computer program products for generating and communicating web content from within an implantable medical device are provided. A method includes collecting data from a memory and/or subsystem of an implantable medical device. Upon collecting the data, the data is converted into web content having a web readable format that is readily consumable for display via a web interface thereby providing a web server from within the implantable medical device. The structure of an output file may be populated with the data converted into the web content. The method may further include transmitting the output file from the implantable medical device to a computing apparatus.
System And Method For Managing Patient Triage In An Automated Patient Management System
Benjamin Somberg - Shoreview MN, US Kenneth Hoyme - Plymouth MN, US Howard Simms - Shoreview MN, US Muralidharan Srivathsa - Shoreview MN, US David Johnson - Inver Grove Heights MN, US
International Classification:
G06Q 10/00 A61B 5/00
US Classification:
705002000, 600300000
Abstract:
A system and method for managing patient triage in an automated patient management system is presented. A criteria for placement of patient data into a display is defined for a plurality of remotely managed patients. The patient data originates from one or more patient data sources operating on each such patient and selected from at least one of a physiological sensor and a therapy delivery device. An ordering of the patient data within the display is defined based on a need of care in relation to one or more of a type of health condition, severity of the health condition, and facilities available to attend to the health condition. An organization of the patient data within the display is defined in relation to metadata associated with the patient data.
System And Method For Managing Alert Notifications In An Automated Patient Management System
Howard Simms - Shoreview MN, US Kenneth Hoyme - Plymouth MN, US David Johnson - Inver Grove Heights MN, US Muralidharan Srivathsa - Shoreview MN, US James Kalgren - Lino Lakes MN, US
International Classification:
G06Q 10/00 A61B 5/00
US Classification:
705002000, 600300000
Abstract:
A system and method for managing alert notifications in an automated patient management system is presented. One or more settings specifying patient data collection periodicity are defined. One or more patient data sources operating on a remotely managed patient and selected from at least one of a physiological sensor and a therapy delivery device are also defined. One or more triggers associated with a condition occurring in relation to at least one such patient data evaluateable subsequent to collection are defined. Finally, a notification scheme executable upon detection of at least one such trigger is determined to provide an external indicator of the condition occurrence.
Radio Frequency Identification And Tagging For Implantable Medical Devices And Medical Device Systems
Alan Smythe - White Bear Lake MN, US Howard Simms - Shoreview MN, US Kenneth Hoyme - Plymouth MN, US
International Classification:
H04Q 7/00
US Classification:
340539120
Abstract:
Systems and methods for radio frequency identification and tagging of implantable medical devices and their components are disclosed. A preferred embodiment includes tagging a device and its components with manufacturing information relating to the device and it components and with information identifying a patient using the device. The information can be automatically transmitted or extracted from the device when the device or its components come into communication range of an external programmer or other device adapted to read or sense the RFID information. Some embodiments of a system disclosed herein can also be configured as a component of an Advanced Patient Management System that helps better monitor, predict and manage chronic diseases.
Differentiating Arrhythmic Events Having Different Origins
Methods, systems, and computer program products differentiate between arrhythmic events having different origins. An implantable medical device detects the arrhythmic events. At least one method involves receiving electrograms representing arrhythmic events and sorting the arrhythmic events into groups based on similarities between the electrograms and/or differences between the electrograms. The method also involves identifying an exemplary arrhythmic event from each group to represent the group from which the exemplary arrhythmic event is identified and distinguishing each exemplary arrhythmic event via an interface display.
