Abstract:

A pole adaptor for connecting and disconnecting a multi-task pole with an attachment tool provides a secure connection and preserves the useful life of the multi-task pole. The adaptor embodies an elongated cylindrical housing having a first open end with two clip holes, a mid-section, and a second open end having four tab holes. The first open end forms a receptacle for the multi-task pole and an alignment with the clip holes for securely attaching the pole adaptor. The second open end forms a receptacle for the attachment tool handle and allowing the handle tabs to connect with two tab holes therein. Four tab holes are provided at the second open end for continued use of the adaptor if two tab wholes wear out.

Abstract:

Provided are compositions and methods for enhancing immune responses to an antigen. The compositions contain an isolated population of CD8+T cells and an inhibitor of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). The method for obtaining an enhanced immune response to an antigen in an individual entails administering to the individual the antigen and an inhibitor of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). CD8+T cells may also be used for adoptive cell transfer (ACT) therapy.

Abstract:

A high frequency ultrasonic transducer may include a plurality of adjacent ultrasonic transducer elements. The adjacent transducer elements may be sized and configured so as to resonate at a frequency that is at least 15 MHz. The adjacent transducer elements may collectively form an aperture that is substantially convex along a lateral dimension spanning the cascaded width of the adjacent transducer elements. The aperture may be substantially concave along an elevation spanning the height of each of the transducer elements. The ultrasonic transducer and an associated transmitter system may be configured so as to enable ultrasound that is radiated from the plurality of the transducer elements to be focused on and to scan across locations that are no more than 30 millimeters from the aperture and that span across a field of view of at least 50 degrees without movement of the ultrasonic transducer or tissue during the scanning.

The invention provides methods for treating a malignant neoplastic cell proliferative disorder or disease, comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of an mTOR inhibitor and an effective amount of a CD4 lymphocyte depleting agent. Such methods find utility in the treatment of certain subsets of malignant neoplastic cell proliferative disorders or diseases, e.g. renal cell carcinoma and melanoma. Abstract:

A bullet is fired from an ammunition cartridge upon piercing a breakaway section in the rear wall of the cartridge to form a gas escape port. The cartridge has one open end in which is seated the bullet and the breakaway section of the rear wall is directly opposite the bullet. A moveable sealing element is adapted to move between two positions. One position seals off the opening in the one end, and the other position is displaced from the opening to allow gas to escape under pressure from the opening. Piston-type element, in response to the housing wall being pierced, stops the flow of gas from this escape port and moves the sealing element from the first to the second position.

Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to processes for producing biofuel compositions by processing hydrocarbon co-feed and a bio-oil obtained via hydrothermal liquifaction (HTL) of a cellulosic biomass to form an HTL oil. The cellulosic mass can be processed at an operating temperature of about 425 C. or less and an operating pressure of about 200 atm or less. The HTL oil is co-processed with a hydrocarbon co-feed (e.g., petroleum fraction) in a cracking unit, such as an FCC unit, a coker unit or a visbreaking unit, in the presence of a catalyst to produce a cracked product (biofuel). The bio content of the cracked product provides RIN credits for the cracked product.

Provided herein is a drill for a dental implant. An ablating element for use with an ablating system employable within a hollow anatomical region. The ablating element includes an elongated support body having a central axis; and, at least one thermocouple wrapped around the central body. The thermocouple provides a dual function of heating the anatomical region and measuring the temperature of the anatomical region.
