Various techniques for providing a device token protocol for authorization and persistent authentication shared across applications are disclosed. In some embodiments, a device token protocol for authorization and persistent authentication shared across applications includes sending user credentials to a remote server to authenticate a user on a device for a plurality of applications; and receiving a device token from the remote server for the user to authenticate the user for the plurality of applications on the device, in which the device token facilitates authentication and authorization.
  • Apparatus For Measuring Ultrafiltration Rate

    view source
  • US Patent:
    39909735, Nov 9, 1976
  • Filed:
    Nov 4, 1974
  • Appl. No.:
    5/520337
  • Inventors:
James T. Boag - Conifer CO
Luke Richard Schmieder - Lakewood CO
  • Assignee:
Cobe Laboratories, Inc. - Lakewood CO
  • International Classification:
    B01D 3100
  • US Classification:
    210 87
  • Abstract:
A system is disclosed for measuring the ultrafiltration rate in an artificial kidney. The system comprises a flow rate meter connected with the outlet of the dialyzer, means for placing the flow control system in bypass so that the dialysate flow is diverted around the dialyzer, and means for maintaining the static pressure of dialysate in the dialyzer during bypass at a value equal to the average of the dynamic pressure prior to bypass. The flow rate indicated by the meter during the bypass interval is equal to the rate of ultrafiltrate flow through the dialyzing medium. Preferably, the pressure in the dialyzer during bypass is maintained by a negative pressure regulating means which responds to the average value of dialysate pressure in the dialyzer during both the run and bypass operations.
  • Continuous Peritoneal Dialysis Apparatus

    view source
  • US Patent:
    56432011, Jul 1, 1997
  • Filed:
    Oct 25, 1994
  • Appl. No.:
    8/328664
  • Inventors:
Alan M. Peabody - Greer SC
James T. Boag - Seattle WA
Ted M. Walters - Anderson SC
  • International Classification:
    A61M 100
  • US Classification:
    604 31
  • Abstract:
A peritoneal dialysis system is illustrated of the continuous flow type which includes a reverse osmosis unit which prepares sterilized and filtered water for mixing with a sterilized dialysate in a dialysis production unit. The process includes proportioning water, dialysis concentrate, and dextrose to provide a dialysis fluid which is then heated and sterilized. The fluid may be accumulated in a reservoir which accumulates a desired amount of dialysis fluid as measured by a load cell which measures the weight of the fluid. The dialysis process may be used with a single or double catheter. A desired amount of fluid is delivered to the peritoneal cavity as measured by the load cell, and a desired amount of fluid is drained from the cavity as measured by a load cell into a drain reservoir so that a desired amount of peritoneal dialysis fluid is maintained in the cavity during dialysis. Alternately, or in addition, flowmeters are utilized to measure the flow rate of the fluid in and out of the peritoneal cavity, either simultaneously or cyclic, and control the amount of fluid in the cavity. Preferably, the process and system includes a double flow catheter in which the flow of dialysis fluid through the inflow passage and the outflow passage of the double flow catheter are simultaneous.
  • Extracorporeal Blood Circulation System And Drip Chamber With Adjustable Blood Level

    view source
  • US Patent:
    39644790, Jun 22, 1976
  • Filed:
    Nov 20, 1974
  • Appl. No.:
    5/525426
  • Inventors:
James T. Boag - Conifer CO
Brian E. Morgan - Wheatridge CO
  • Assignee:
Cobe Laboratories, Inc. - Lakewood CO
  • International Classification:
    A61M 103
  • US Classification:
    128214R
  • Abstract:
In accordance with the invention there is provided an extracorporeal blood circulation system including a drip chamber having a blood inlet in its top and a blood outlet in its bottom, such chamber during operation containing blood in its bottom portion and air in its top portion, an air passage communicating with the top of the chamber, an air pump communicating with the atmosphere and with the passage for pumping air through the passage from the chamber into the atmosphere and from the atmosphere into the chamber, and means for selectively actuating the pump to either pump air into or out of the chamber.
  • Dialyzer Reuse System

    view source
  • US Patent:
    46953850, Sep 22, 1987
  • Filed:
    Apr 29, 1985
  • Appl. No.:
    6/728204
  • Inventors:
James T. Boag - Evergreen CO
  • Assignee:
Colorado Medical, Inc. - Evergreen CO
  • International Classification:
    B01D 1301
    B08B 304
  • US Classification:
    210636
  • Abstract:
A dialysis reuse system for cleansing, sterilizing and testing a hemodialysis machine and its associated dialyzer and blood tubing set. The reuse control device automatically controls either the selected reuse cycle or dialyzer test cycle as desired. In the reuse cycle a proper solution of bleach, rinse water and formaldehyde disinfectant is flushed through the system for a prearranged time period and in proper sequence to completely cleanse and disinfect the entire dialysis system including the dialyzer and blood lines. At the end of the cycle, the system is isolated, leaving the disinfectant solution intact within the system to prevent bacteria growth and contamination. In the dialyzer test cycle, a dialyzer clearance test is automatically performed using the associated hemodialysis machine to test the condition of the dialyzer membrane prior to patient treatment. The adapter valve allows the cleaning solution to be reversed through the blood side of the dialyzer, allowing momentary reversals to dislodge and remove any blood clots or other matter which may be present in the system. The fluid from the reuse device is drawn into the dialysis machine at a vacuum point in the dialysate tubing which also allows air to be removed from the reuse output fluid as well as causing the solutions to mix completely to obtain proper dilution.
