Abstract:

A power system () includes power conversion apparatus () coupled to load apparatus () having at least one load circuit (). The power conversion apparatus includes: a first input () for receiving an AC signal; a second input () for receiving a DC signal; and a first number of power supply circuits () each including an AC conversion circuit () for generating an output signal based on the AC signal; a revert circuit () coupled to the AC conversion circuit for generating the output signal based on the DC signal, the revert circuit including a battery charger (), wherein each of the battery chargers is coupled in common at the second input and is configured with a corresponding predetermined capacity that causes at least a portion of the DC signal to be provided by at least a portion of the battery chargers.

Abstract:

An inductive device () that includes a core () configured so as to be a closed loop and at least one coil () around the core, and methods for assembly. The coil is formed from a material having a cross-section with an aspect ratio of a first dimension to a second adjacent dimension, with the first dimension being longer than the second dimension, wherein the coil is positioned around the core such that the first dimension is essentially normal to the core. In one embodiment the core includes a removable core section to enable assembly of the inductive device by slidably placing the coil onto the core through an opening formed in the core by removing the core section. In another embodiment, the coil is rotated to cause it to wind around the core.

Abstract:

In a power supply that includes switch-mode feedback, output transient responses can be minimized by first detecting a predetermined load change. Once the load change has been detected, the switch-mode feedback is adjusted for a predetermined period of time to a maximum level for load increases or to a minimum level for load decreases. When the predetermined period of time elapses, the switch-mode feedback is adjusted to an output voltage dependent mode of operation.

Abstract:

Using a plurality of distinct behavioral tasks conducted in a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scanner, fMRI data acquired from one or more subjects performing working memory tasks can be used for diagnosing psychiatrics and neurological disorders. A classification algorithm can be used to determine a classification model, tune the model, and apply the model. An output indicative of a subject's clinical condition can then be provided and used to diagnose new cases.
