I have participated in and toured with a wide variety of very successful musical ensembles from 1982 to the present (marching, concert, symphonic, and jazz bands, brass quintets, wind ensembles, jazz combo's, choral groups, solo instrumental performances, instrumental backup groups for vocal performances, and Drum and Bugle Corps for the United States Air Force). I have been instructed by some of the finest Doctorial Professors in the country, both in the field of music and in the field of education. As a teacher, band director, and leader I work to keep my lessons fresh and relative, and stay up-to-date with current trends in education. Also, I am able to successfully multitask and work as a team member to get the job done with a high standard of quality. However, what helps me the most as a band director and as an educator is my pure love of teaching, both for the sharing of knowledge and assisting in the growth of our youth. One of my favorite aspects of teaching instrumental music is taking students through the process of learning, be it the basics of performing well on an instrument, or developing a piece of music in areas of performance including historical significance as well as respect to composer and arranger.
